Li Ran arrived at her parents’ house.

It was empty and there was nobody.

They were still at home when she contacted them last time.

‘Where are they?’

She looked around.

Suddenly, Li Ran found a note on the table. She knew that it was left for her.

[ My dear daughter, we could not get in contact with you. Lin Nan had picked us up this morning. If you see this note, please try to reach out to us as soon as possible. ]

She heaved a sigh of relief.

Li Ran turned around and was ready to leave. It seemed that Lin Nan was on the way to rescue her.

She had to quickly find a phone so she could contact her parents.

After getting into her car, she sat on the driver’s seat and thought for a while.

It was very likely that she had just missed Lin Nan. Going back to her house to wait for him would not be a good idea. The most important thing was to get in touch.

‘I need to find a cell phone and make a call!’

That was the only way she could get in touch with them.

Li Ran took out five bottles of water and a few bags of biscuits from the space.

She put them under the passenger seat.

Then, she drove off.

She may be able to find a few people on the road. They most likely would be at places where food and drinks could be found.

For example, shopping malls, supermarkets, and so on.

After driving for a short while, Li Ran slowed down her car and started observing her surroundings.

Along the way, Li Ran had bumped into countless zombies. It could mean that there were people around the area.

She saw a group of people on the street.

At first, Li Ran was confused. She was not sure if they were humans or zombies. Upon a closer look, they were indeed humans so Li Ran stopped her car.

When those people saw her, they got very excited.

A girl went up to her and asked, “Are you from the rescue team?”

Li Ran answered apologetically.

“No.”

“Ah, then where are you planning to go?”

“I don’t have a destination…”

Li Ran could not think of a suitable answer, so she made up a story.

The girl believed her. A faint smile appeared on her face. Although she looked a little haggard, she was very beautiful.

Her beauty was completely different from Li Ran’s.

Li Ran had very sharp and distinct features. She was more of a cool beauty.

“Then, would you like to wait here with us? Someone from our side has contacted the rescue team. We will be saved soon.”

He was asking her the question with a serious expression.

Li Ran squatted down and said with a smile, “I came from my home.”

The little boy said happily. He was smiling with his eyes closed.

Li Ran’s heart melted. She thought that the little boy was very cute.

Thinking that she would give birth to a child as adorable as him instantly put her in a good mood.

It was coming from the little boy’s stomach.

The little boy scratched his head. He looked a little embarrassed and shyly said, “Don’t worry. I’m not that hungry”

Li Ran could not bear it anymore.

She said in a low voice, “Wait a moment,”

Then, she headed towards her car.

She took out a bag of biscuits and a bottle of water from under the passenger seat.

After that, she handed the food and water to the little boy.

The little boy looked at Li Ran in surprise.

At first, he pushed the food away, saying that he did not want them.

“Sister, you eat them. I can still endure the hunger.”

The little boy’s eyes could not hide how hungry he actually was. He thanked Li Ran and eagerly opened the bag of biscuits. Then, he stuffed a handful of them into his mouth.
