Apocalypse: Living with a Cute Baby Chapter 2

Li Ran arrived at the general store.

Everything was in place.

She walked around the store. There were many baby products, such as milk powder, diapers, and so on.

When she reached the second floor, she found that there was a big sale going on.

This store had everything, including snacks for pregnant women, grains, and more.

Li Ran knew exactly what she needed. She bought herself some grains because they were suitable for her low-sugar diet.

“Hello, how many weeks are you pregnant?”

A sales assistant walked up and asked Li Ran. She had a smile on her face and looked very kind.

Li Ran said in a gentle tone, “Eight weeks.”

“Congratulations. If you need any recommendations, I can help you.”

“Thank you. I would like to see some pregnancy clothes.”

The salesperson nodded and began leading the way.

“Your figure is very good even though you’re pregnant. Here’s a free-size dress. It’s very comfortable. There are also some free-size pants over there.”

The salesperson glanced at Li Ran’s belly. The baby bump was not very obvious.

She continued to say with a smile, “When the time comes, you will have to wear low-waisted underwear.”

Li Ran continued to browse through the clothes. She touched the material and they were indeed very comfortable. So, she bought a number of them.

She also bought a new pillow.

After paying for everything, she headed to her final destination.

She loaded them into the trolley with the help of a staff.

After Li Ran reached her home, she began unloading everything that she had bought. The pregnancy and baby clothes were very light, but the food and drinks were a little strenuous.

She put away the baby products. It would not be a good idea to put them on display.

Li Ran continued to tidy up and put the items away. She knew that if she did not do it now, she would procrastinate even more later.

Suddenly, among the baby’s clothes, she found a strange metal object. It was round and shiny.

‘Could someone have accidentally put it in?’

Li Ran picked it up but as soon as she touched it, her head began spinning.

Her body felt light and weightless. She almost lost her balance.

Li Ran then slowly came back to her senses. She opened her eyes and looked around her surroundings.

‘What is this place?’

Li Ran was completely dumbfounded.

In her world, there are gentle breezes, blue skies, and white clouds. The days were usually bright.

However, in this world, there were no clouds in the sky.

All she could see were chickens and ducks running around.

‘Wasn’t I at home?’

Li Ran was very sure about this!

She looked around even more.

It seemed like she was on a farm. There was empty land and broken fences. Further away, there was also a lake. At the end of the lake was a continuous stretch of mountains.

The place was desolate and uninhabited.

Li Ran was all alone…

She rubbed her belly and there was no discomfort. Luckily, the migraine she had earlier did not affect her body.

However, Li Ran was mentally drained.

While she was trying to get closer to the animals, she saw a book on top of a stone.

It was a diary.

On the cover of the book, it was written “Survival Manual For Pregnant Women”.

Li Ran immediately flipped through the book.

At the beginning of the book, it explained the apocalypse.

The words written in the manual were very straightforward.

‘Basically, what caused the apocalypse was a red acid rain that carried a virus. In the early stages, the infected person’s blood pressure would rise, causing lung disease. Other symptoms include shedding tears, having a sore throat, coughing, experiencing shortness of breath, and feeling suffocated in the chest.’
