Hearing Jing Yichen praise the soup, Shangguan Ning got so happy that her eyes twinkled.

She pushed the entire bowl of soup to Jing Yichen. “Then you can drink it up. The soup is very nutritious!”

The chef Old Du had got all the dishes ready. He removed the hat and the apron as he said smilingly, “Master, Lady is just tricking you. Here is the soup she made. That bowl she gave to you is full of extra salt.”

Jing Yichen shook his head helplessly and said with a smile on his face, “I knew that my wife couldn’t make such terrible food.”

Sister Lan put the rice on the table and went out with Sister Fang and Old Du. Shangguan Ning had offered them an apartment on the sixth floor so that they could come to make food and clean the apartment whenever they were needed.

Jing Yichen washed his hands and sat down at the food table. Staring at the new bowl of soup which Shangguan Ning had given him, he took it cheerfully and said, “No extra salt this time, right?”

Shangguan Ning blinked. “Try and you will know!”

Jing Yichen took a sip, lifted the bowl and ate up the sea cucumber and chicken slices from the soup in one go.

“One more bowl!”

Shangguan Ning asked happily with an excited expression, “Is it tasty? Is it tasty?”

Jing Yichen had a slight smile on his face. He was exaggerating. Shangguan Ning wasn’t gifted in making food and the soup that she had made was not half as good as Old Du.

But it was already great that she had managed to make the soup to this degree within such a short period of time.

He was always tolerating and spoiling his wife.

After dinner and shower, the couple laid down on the bed.

But when his fingers reached out for the inside of her skirt, Shangguan Ning took hold of his hands.

She said with an unsteady breath, “A bit tired today. What about tomorrow?”

A touch of gleam flashed across Jing Yichen’s eyes. He would never force her but he kissed her fiercely before saying, “I will let you go this time, but you will have to make up for it later.”

Shangguan Ning snuggled in his arms, thinking about something else.

The following morning when the dawn had just broken, Shangguan Ning tiptoed out of the bed, sneaked a peek at Jing Yichen who was still fast asleep, took out something from the bag and went into the bathroom.

She was late. She had bought the pregnancy test yesterday and decided to use it this morning.

She was looking at the red lines on the pregnancy test carefully when the door of the bathroom was suddenly opened.

She got startled, dropping the pregnancy test on the floor.

Jing Yichen walked in half-naked and said smilingly, “Pregnant?”

He said as he picked up the pregnancy test from the floor, observed it a bit yet didn’t understand a thing. He had never seen this before. Nor had he used it before.

Shangguan Ning said in a disappointing tone, “No, just one line, meaning that I am not pregnant.”

Jing Yichen burst into laughter seeing her so sad.

He tossed the pregnancy test into the dustbin. He picked up Shangguan Ning, walked out of the bathroom and placed her gently onto the bed.

He leaned upon her and said cheerfully, “Baby, do you really want to give birth to a baby for me so badly?”

Shangguan Ning held his neck and puckered her lips. “Why haven’t I got pregnant? Do I have any issues?”

Jing Yichen buried his head into the crook of her neck and chuckled. His breath tickled Shangguan Ning’s chest. Then she started to laugh along with him. She had seemed a bit too eager.

A long while later, Jing Yichen looked up into her eyes and said, “Baby, you don’t have any issues. You would if you were pregnant. I was away on business during your ovulation period. How could you possibly have gotten pregnant. Silly girl!”

Shangguan Ning’s eyes widened. “Oh really? I don’t even know how to calculate the ovulation period. How did you know how to do that?”

Oh, well, he had never known how to calculate such a thing for women. He mustn’t make himself look suspicious.

“I looked it up on the internet after I married you. I remember clearly about your period date and that makes the calculation easy.”

Jing Yichen slowly undressed his wife as he said in a low voice, “It is okay, I will go nowhere next month and fill you up every day. You mustn’t beg me for mercy.”

Shangguan Ning almost collapsed after being touched by him. She said anxiously, “No more messing around. It is daytime, time for work. Release me now.”

Jing Yichen took one of her nipples into his mouth as he mumbled. “No need to hurry… let me bring you happiness first…”

Her body was beautiful.

She had white, tender skin that was flawless. Her breasts were plump and waist was slender. Her legs were well proportionate and long. Even her feet were rosy.
