Chapter 768: Not Interested

Ever since Shen Li had returned to the Capital, this was the first time the two of them had seen each other.

“Why are your hands so cold?”

Lu Huaiyu frowned slightly and wrapped her hand in the palm of his hands as he spoke.

Shen Li, “…”

When she had walked over, her hand had been in her pocket the entire time. It was still warm now, so how could it be cold?

However, Lu Huaiyu did not give her a chance to refute and immediately led her into the car.

“Miss Shen.”

Yi Bin greeted her with a smile.

Shen Li nodded.

“Special Assistant Yi.”

Lu Huaiyu said, “Let’s head to the China World Trade Center.”

“Alright, Second Master.”

The car started and headed in the direction of the China World Trade Center.

“How was your exam?” Lu Huaiyu turned his head to look at Shen Li.

Shen Li nodded. “It was pretty good. I should be able to pass.”

If she passed, she would be able to get academic credits.

Lu Huaiyu’s gaze fell on her face.

The little girl had taken fourteen exams in the span of four days, and her schedule had been especially tight. Looking at her small face, he felt that she seemed to have lost a lot of weight.

He gently pinched her soft and tender hand and chuckled.

“Later, you’ll have to eat more when we reach. Otherwise, if people see you, they’ll think that I, Lu Huaiyu, can’t afford to keep a girlfriend.”

…

Half an hour later, at the China World Trade Center.

Lu Huaiyu held Shen Li’s hand as they walked inside.

Just as they entered, a familiar voice came from the front.

“President Lu?”

Shen Li looked up and saw a familiar face.

Yu Yu.

She was wearing a white suit today. Paired with delicate and light makeup, she looked very capable and elegant.

Behind her stood six or seven men and women who were also dressed formally. They seemed to be of high status.

When they saw Lu Huaiyu, their expressions became more respectful.

“Second Master.”

These people were from the Lu Corporation.

The small group of people looked at Shen Li. “Miss Shen.”

They could not hide their curiosity.

Everyone in the Lu Corporation knew that their second master had a girlfriend, but not many had actually seen her in person.

This was a rare encounter, so they could not help but steal a few more glances.

As for the three people beside Yu Yu, they were employees of the Yu Corporation who had accompanied Yu Yu on this trip.

When Yu Yu’s gaze landed on the hands of the pair in front of her, she teased them.

“Special Assistant Yi said earlier that President Lu had something important to attend to and could not attend the dinner party tonight. I see that the reason is that he had to accompany his girlfriend?”

This time, she had come to the Capital to discuss a collaboration with the Lu Corporation.

However, the people who had been responsible for contacting her a few days ago had always been the members of the senior management of the Lu Corporation. As for Lu Huaiyu, she had never once seen him.

It was only when the contract had been officially signed this morning that Lu Huaiyu had finally showed up.

This time, Yu Yu had come not only because she wanted to promote the collaboration between the Yu Corporation and the Lu Corporation, but also because she wanted to establish a good relationship with Lu Huaiyu.

Unfortunately, Lu Huaiyu had not given her the chance to do so.

After signing the contract with great difficulty, both parties had spoken about having a get-together, but Lu Huaiyu had rejected it without hesitation.

She had thought that he truly was busy with something important, but who would have known that… he just wanted to accompany Shen Li?

Hearing this, Shen Li glanced at Yu Yu.

What she said… was quite interesting.

Lu Huaiyu smiled and said in a relaxed and calm voice,”Ah Li just finished her exams, so I wanted to take her out for dinner.”

Yu Yu’s smile did not change.

“President Lu truly dotes on his girlfriend.”

So, in Lu Huaiyu’s eyes, that contract was not as important as having a meal with Shen Li?

Lu Huaiyu raised his eyebrows slightly.

“I only have one girlfriend. Of course, she has to be pampered.”

Yu Yu continued to smile.

“Yes, Miss Shen is still young and exceptionally attractive, President Lu should spend more time with her.”

The corners of Shen Li’s lips curled up slightly.

Yu Yu and Lu Huaiyu were the same age, but she was only four years older than Shen Li. From Yu Yu’s tone of voice, she seemed to be treating Shen Li like a child.

In other words, she was implying that Lu Huaiyu had refused to attend their dinner to accompany Shen Li just because she was still young and insensible.

It looked like he did not hesitate to allow his love life to take over his work time.

Just then, a young man who was standing beside Yu Yu received a call.

It was not known to anyone else as to what was being said on the other end, but his expression brightened.

“Alright, thank you.”

He hung up the phone, still unable to hide the excitement on his face.

“President Yu, Shengguang Media has relented and said that they are interested in working with us. We’ll be able to discuss the specifics in detail with them later.”

Yu Yu’s eyes lit up when she heard this.

“Tell them that they can set the time and we will agree to it.”

“Yes.”

The man lowered his head and sent another message.

Another woman who looked to be in her thirties asked,”President Yu, the Shengguang Media that was mentioned earlier– Is that the investor of ‘Hibiscus’?”

Yu Yu smiled and nodded. “Yes.”

After she said that, the people from the Lu Corporation looked at each other.

“I didn’t expect that Yu Corporation and Shengguang Media would collaborate with each other. I’ve heard that their people are very difficult to deal with and they are very strict with their partners.”

“That’s normal. After all, they are currently in the limelight. The key point is that this company only seemed to have just registered in Hong Kong City last year. The registered capital was only 10 million, and the first film they invested in was ‘Hibiscus’. They eventually earned a net profit of a few hundred million! Now, many companies want to connect with them.”

“As expected of President Yu…”

Although Shengguang Media had only been established for a short period of time, ‘Hibiscus’ had earned them a huge profit. Its future development was limitless, and many potential investors in the industry wanted to take advantage of it.

Yu Corporation was huge, and its assets included real estate, hotels, media, and so on. However, the resources that Yu Yu was in charge of were limited, and the real estate and other large businesses had not been allocated to her. She was mainly responsible for media.

This collaboration with the Lu Corporation had already added a wonderful stroke to her resume. If she could establish a relationship with Shengguang Media, her position in Yu Corporation would be even more stable.

Ding.

The elevator door opened.

Lu Huaiyu and Shen Li were the first to enter.

Yu Yu and the others followed behind.

“Second Master, which floor are you and Miss Shen going to?”

A high-ranking official of the Lu Corporation asked.

Lu Huaiyu said calmly, “The 21st floor.”

“The 21st floor.”

The higher-up pressed ’21’ before pressing ’25’.

Yu Yu looked at the person who had just spoken and modestly spoke, “Currently, Shengguang Media has only indicated an interest. Whether the contract can be negotiated or not is another matter.”

That person smiled and said, “President Yu’s ability is unquestionable, so this matter should be almost a certainty, right?”

Yu Yu smiled but did not deny it.

She suddenly thought of something.

“It’s already after work hours. Let’s not talk about this anymore. It’s meaningless.”

She turned her head to look at Shen Li and pursed her lips into a smile.

“Miss Shen probably doesn’t like to hear about this kind of thing.”

Shen Li looked at her and gently curved her lips into a smile.

Did she mean that she did not like it or that she did not understand it?

She nodded lazily.

“I’m not really interested.”
