Chapter 978: A Hunter Sizing Up His Prey

A group of makeup artists and stylists surrounded Su Wan, afraid that something might go wrong.

After all, this was the wedding of the heir of the Siswell family. It could be considered a grand event. If something went wrong, which one of them would be able to bear the responsibility?!

The female makeup artist took out a compact and carefully pat Su Wan’s face. Then, she picked up her lipstick and carefully applied it on Su Wan’s moist lips.

Seeing that Su Wan couldn’t lift her spirits and allowed them to put on their makeup without saying a word, everyone felt a little strange.

“Miss Su, today is your wedding with Young Master Fiennes. You mustn’t look like you haven’t woken up. Otherwise, young master Fiennes will vent his anger on us.”

Although Su Wan was indeed very beautiful, who wouldn’t feel worried when they saw her looking so listless?

Of course, the bride had to smile to look good. If she had a bitter face, no matter how bright her makeup was, it would look out of place.

“Okay, I’ll take note.”

Su Wan tilted her head and glanced at the makeup artist. Then, she looked at the woman with bright lips in the mirror. She had a feeling that this person was not her illusion.

She rarely wore makeup. Even if she did, it was only light makeup. Even on the day of their wedding, her elegance was the main focus and beauty was the secondary focus.

Today was the first time she tried this kind of red rose-like make-up.

Actually, it was supposed to be good, but her current expression was too gloomy, which made it seem a little strange.

Su Wan silently sighed in her heart.

She was about to be coerced into having a wedding with another man. If Jiang Xuecheng did not arrive in time, it would be impossible for her to be happy!

Meanwhile, the makeup artist had basically finished the bride’s makeup for Su Wan. She was very close to Su Wan, so she naturally heard Su Wan’s faint sigh just now.

It can’t be?

It was such a great day to get married. Moreover, the person she was getting married to was currently the most honorable single man in the God’s Palace. There were so many noble ladies who could not get married to him. Why was Su Wan sighing?

Could it be that Su Wan and Fiennes were really not on good terms?

The makeup artist was filled with doubts, but she did not dare to ask any more questions.

This kind of grudge between rich and powerful families was at most a matter of right and wrong. Small fries like them could gossip in private. If they were to put it on the table and ask about it, they would only be asking for death!

“Miss Su, your wedding dress.”

The makeup artist pushed Su Wan slightly. When Su Wan heard this, she suddenly turned her head.

Then, she saw a maid walking over with a tray. On it was a beautiful white wedding dress.

The wedding dress looked as thin as a Cicada’s wings. Layers upon layers were inlaid with gorgeous pearls and diamonds. The hem of the dress and the side of the waist were embroidered with a very faint lily design. It was so gorgeous and elegant.

Whether it was the material of the dress or the workmanship of the dress, it could be considered a work of art.

“What a beautiful wedding dress!”

“If only I could wear such a beautiful wedding dress when I get married!”

“I heard that young master Fiennes went to get fashion master Dylan to design it himself!”

Su Wan stood up quietly and turned a deaf ear to the envious discussions of the people beside her.

Her gaze was fixed on the wedding dress. The gorgeous white bridal dress was glowing under the light. It could be said that it was the wedding dress style that most girls wanted the most.

However, in Su Wan’s eyes, it did not stir up even the slightest ripple.

She suddenly missed the blue wedding dress that Jiang Xuecheng had personally chosen for her. The blue wedding dress represented that they would never abandon each other.

The things that man had chosen were always so unique. The blue wedding dress was so rare that it was like Jiang Xuecheng. It was peerless and independent.

It was not like the white wedding dress in front of her. It was beautiful, but it did not have any outstanding features.

She… would definitely wait until Jiang Xuecheng arrives, right?

Su Wan felt a lump in her throat. The closer she was to death, the more afraid she felt.

…

“Miss Su, why are you still in a daze?! Time waits for no one. It’s time for you to change into the wedding gown!”

The makeup artist saw Su Wan’s stunned look and immediately reminded her out of kindness.

The crowd who did not know the truth burst into laughter.

“You must be too engrossed in looking at the wedding dress. That’s right. If I were to wear such a beautiful wedding dress, I would get married right now!”

“Pfft, come on. Do you really think that it’s so easy for master Dylan to design clothes for others, let alone such a complicated wedding dress? I wonder how much time and energy it would take!”

“I was just thinking about it.”

The girls’ teasing and laughter rang out in the room. It was a joyous atmosphere. However, Su Wan’s heart was extremely lost, mixed with a faint sense of anxiety.

Why did she feel like she was in a different world from them? Amidst the laughter, she was the only one who felt so sad.

“Aiya, Miss Su, don’t be in a daze. No matter how beautiful the wedding dress is, it’s better to put it on first.”

The female stylist obviously did not expect Su Wan to not move, so she held the wedding dress and dragged Su Wan into the changing room.

“Miss Su, the design of this dress is a little complicated. It’s easy for it to catch your hair. Why don’t I help you change?”

Su Wan looked at the person’s kind smile, but she still shook her head with difficulty.

“No need. I can do it myself.”

As Su Wan said this, she took the white wedding dress from their hands and closed the door forcefully.

As soon as the door closed, Su Wan felt the light wedding dress in her hand suddenly become heavy, as if it weighed a thousand pounds.

Should she change or not?

No matter how much she hesitated, Su Wan knew that it was useless to run away at this moment.

So Su Wan gritted her teeth and began to take off her original long dress. She carefully put on the white wedding dress.

Just as the stylist said, the design of the dress was too complicated. It took her a lot of effort to wear it. She even hooked her hair at one point.

Su Wan forcefully pulled off the hair. She could only be glad that she had only put on makeup and not done her hair.

When she pulled her hair, her scalp was slightly numb, but it was not even one-thousandth of the anxiety in her heart.

After about fifteen minutes, Su Wan finally put on her gorgeous white wedding dress.

The moment she pushed the door open and walked out, Su Wan seemed to hear a series of gasps.

Under the light, the white wedding dress made Su Wan look even more beautiful. The diamonds on the hem of the dress were faintly visible, and it was overflowing with colors.

“She’s so beautiful…”

“No wonder young master Fiennes wants to marry her.”

Some people whispered to each other. Su Wan couldn’t hear them clearly, but she didn’t care.

However, all of a sudden, Su Wan heard a man’s voice that she had been getting familiar with for the past few days.

“She’s very beautiful.”

Su Wan was shocked and suddenly raised her head.

She saw Fiennes appear in the room at some point in time. His figure was slender and he was wearing a high-class custom-made white suit. He looked like a couple with Su Wan.

Fiennes looked at Su Wan with a smile. His blue eyes seemed polite, but she thought it was a hunter sizing up his prey.

Su Wan felt uncomfortable being looked at.
