The Great Thief Chapter 1493 – How Poor

Chapter 1493: How Poor

The two cars rumbled as they drove away. The players who were sniping Lu Li and co. had no idea that those four had stripped naked and escaped.

In the game, apart from clothes, there was no way to identify a player just by seeing them. Because of this, there was no way to tell who the person running towards you was. In a period of crisis, you might not even have the brainpower to tell who was who by their clothes. If you didn’t open fire, then they would.

As such, the people who arrived at the airport had no choice but to slaughter each other.

Lu Li and his team drove straight across the bridge, because the safety zone was on the opposite side to the airport.

“There’s probably no one in the gas station or the high tower. Innocent, bro, you stay and look around here a bit. We’ll go to the front, and after we get a gun, we can go together to block up the bridge,” Lu Li said as he sped away with his girl, leaving those two single dogs gnashing their teeth in anger.

Where Lu Li and Water Fairy arrived was the Farm on the Coast, which could be considered a house consisting of two buildings almost joined together.

“There are people here; the door on that side’s open. I think I’ll just have a look around then get back to block the bridge,” Lu Li said as he saw an open door from far away.

“Do we need to go now?” Water Fairy asked.

“No, I suppose there won’t be that many people descending on here. If it is a whole team, then as soon as we hear their car they will come and attack. We’ll just search these few rooms nearby. Be careful,” Lu Li said, but he was actually not that worried. Four people fighting in the wild was really quite challenging though. Their opponents might be like them, scattering to different resource points and looking for different types of things.

Lu Li’s search of the first room was quite miserable – he could only find a green level 1 helmet.

The second room had a first aid kit and a handgun.

Water Fairy checked a room and found a VSS, which was a firearm that existed in real life.

The types of guns in the game Survival and Escape were all models from hundreds of years. By the time of World War 3, these guns were already obsolete, existing only in books, movies and museums.

A VSS was a type of a sniper rifle with almost no muzzle flare at close distances. It used 9mm bullets, and in real life, this type of weapon could shoot at long range. Even if it had an all-in-one suppressor, which would reduce its speed, it still had ability to penetrate through Kevlar bulletproof vests.

This so-called all-in-one suppressor was a part of the silencer for the gun, and not part of the firearm’s accessories. Silencers were generally called ‘additional accessories’, and were placed at the nozzle of the gun to reduce the sound and muzzle flare when shooting. This all-in-one suppressor was already included with the gun nozzle in the process of making the gun. As such, the gun didn’t need the ‘additional accessory’ of a silencer.

This gun featured in many ancient shooting games.

However, in Survival and Escape, it was a sniper whose power was pretty similar to that of a handgun.

Almost no one would choose to use this gun. With an expression of absolute disgust, Water Fairy equipped herself with it.

“Give me the VSS. I’ll go get those people at the front.”

Lu Li wasn’t repulsed by the gun at all. The main thing was he wasn’t in a place to choose. It was still alright, and it was a little better than a handgun. As long as it was silenced, he could still shoot accurately from far away.

Water Fairy handed the firearm to Lu Li, who took it and ran out.

The fourth room had already been searched; Lu Li only saw some useless clothing and a tin of gas. His thoughts turned to those guys who wanted to burn him and Water Fairy to death, and he immediately felt cold.

Someone had already searched the 5th room. They left behind a sprayer, but it didn’t have any bullets.

The 6th room was also empty…

Lu Li didn’t dare go any further as he wasn’t completely sure if the other people had left yet. If they hadn’t, that would mean they were staying in a small room, tricking themselves into getting them killed.

After looking around the area, Lu Li chose the leave the room. He stood on a hill nearby, then climbed down.

“Are they inside?” Water Fairy asked.

“They should be. If they don’t have a gun, they can’t raid rooms, so we’ve got no choice but to wait for them to come out themselves,” Lu Li said. Seeing the sprayer earlier meant that the opponents already had one. Taking the bullets but leaving the sprayer meant that they must not have been lacking ammo.

The advantage was now with them. The opponents didn’t know what guns Lu Li and Water Fairy had. They might not even know if there were two in Lu Li’s group, or four.

“What do we do now then? They’re not coming out. Otherwise, if we wait for Sister Maple to come, they’ll probably have found a gun already,” Water Fairy said.

“It’s fine – you go drive,” Lu Li assured as he shook his head.

“Oh, I see, you…”

The situation was rather treacherous. As long as the car made a sound, the opponents would think that the people had left. Regardless of whether they were going to attack or whether they were heading on the road, they couldn’t stay hiding in the house.

Knowing that someone had driven away, it would indicate to them that either they didn’t have enough people, or that they didn’t have weapons. At this, the two people hiding inside rushed out.

Lu Li wasn’t in a rush to attack. In the unlikely possibility that he shot but didn’t kill them, their opponents could simply head back to the house to hide and they would enter a stalemate.

Water Fairy didn’t drive fast, so this made the opponents want to leave their car even more.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

It was the sound of a relatively soft and depressed sniper rifle. Lu Li aimed at one of their hands, shooting with an automatic rifle.

There were 10 bullets in total, and it took at least 6 to kill someone.

Lu Li hadn’t hit the other person. After he had aimed at Lu Li with two submachine guns and missed, he helplessly retreated inside the room. The advantage of sprayers was that they were powerful, but the disadvantage was that they were equally noticeable. Their volume and speed was average, but the worst part was that the range was really pitiful.

“I’ve the gun, and you go pick up stuff,” Lu Li said as he changed the clip and killed the person on the ground.

Water Fairy ran over to pick up all the stuff. Actually, at this time, if the guy still there wasn’t a chicken, he could have gone directly to Water Fairy and used the sprayer to kill her.

That being said, he still didn’t know how many people were around. Apart from the VSS, he didn’t know what other guns there were.

He was waiting, waiting for backup from his teammates not far away.

Water Fairy picked up the gun and the other things from the box from the corpse on the ground, then ran. She ran until she was in a safe place before she shouted for Lu Li to come over and divide up the loot.

Actually, this person was also poor, but at least they were much better off than Lu Li and his time.

There was an M16 and a sprayer. The sprayer had 12 bullets, while the M16 had 24. Lu Li took out the sprayer and 6 bullets and gave the rest of the stuff to Water Fairy. It was because of the sprayer that Lu Li decided to go in and kill that guy. Even if that guy was also poor, as least he would still be able to get something.

There was no better weapon for scouting rooms than a submachine gun. Lu Li made Water Fairy the lookout to protect against people passing by while Lu Li himself went in to kill.

The person inside the house heard footsteps approaching. He began to quiver; he was already close to tears.

What a cruel beast. After killing his brother, he wouldn’t even spare him.

He was now completely sure that these two guys must be poorer than himself. Otherwise, they wouldn’t just have one person firing, let along firing with that fraud of a VSS.

If other people found out that he was blocked up just because of a couple of submachine guns, he would never live it down.
