The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 715 – Crisis (Chapter 1)

More and more doubts were swarming in Shen Yanxiao’s mind. It was like there was a dark cloud blocking the truth, and she could only touch these dark clouds without finding any clues.

She was in a hopeless situation.

While Shen Yanxiao was quietly thinking, someone knocked on the door without any warning.

“Little Xiao, are you awake?” Tang Nazhi’s voice rang out from the oppositte side of the door; his voice sounded anxious.

After hearing Tang Nazhi’s strange tone, Shen Yanxiao came back to her senses and immediately replied, “I’m already awake, what happened?”

“The city has encountered a strange situation. A lot of people have fallen ill. Quickly come and see them, we suspect that they have been poisoned.” Tang Nazhi hurriedly said.

“Poisoned?” Shen Yanxiao quickly stood up and hurriedly put on her shoes and clothes. She didn’t even bother fixing her hair before rushing out of the door.

“How can they be poisoned? What’s going on?”

Tang Nazhi’s expression didn’t looked too good when he explained, “I don’t know much, just that there were a lot of people falling ill this morning. Yan Yu tried to cure them with blessing techniques but this still had no effect; he said that this situation might not be from a poison, but… a curse.”

Shen Yanxiao was stunned for a moment.

It would have been normal if it was just a poison, but for it to be actually a curse technique?

Didn’t they say that in the Radiance Continent, the Warlock profession was already dying?

“Let me check it first.” Shen Yanxiao slightly frowned, she must first see the current condition of those people before determining their situation.

The Rising Sun City was quiet today, the usually busy workers were missing.

A lot of humans appeared to have fallen ill; many of them were twitching from head to foot and some even nearly fainted.

Under Tang Nazhi’s guidance, Shen Yanxiao went to the Cave Wolves Mercenary Corps Headquarters and saw that almost all the mercenaries sitting in the hall had a deathly pale face at the moment. Their situation was indeed very strange. Their faces were wan and their arms and legs were powerless, and would occasionally twitch.

Du Lang and the other six wolves’ situations were the best among the rest, yet they still couldn’t stand up and walk. All their strength felt as if it was drained and their feet felt soft.

“City Lord, you are here.” Du Lang was struggling to support himself as he leaned on his chair, his deathly pale face looked unsightly.

Yang Xi was looking after them, when he saw Shen Yanxiao walking over, he immediately went forward to her.

“The entire Cave Wolves Mercenary Corps are in this situation. Yan Yu had been going over to other people’s houses to help but his blessings only gave a low effect and can only play a small role.” Yang Xi’s complexion didn’t looked too good either, fortunately there was nothing unusual.

“Are the other people of the city in the same exact situation?” Shen Yanxiao asked.

“Besides Uncle Jiu’s group, everyone had fallen ill.” Yang Xi nodded his head.

“Besides Uncle Jiu’s group?” Shen Yanxiao was slightly surprised. She was very clear about the real identity of Uncle Jiu’s group. Besides Uncle Jiu, they were all experimental subjects for the integration of different races. Everyone had fallen ill except them?

“How about you guys? Are you all fine?” Shen Yanxiao looked at Tang Nazhi and Yang Xi.

“We’re fine, ordinary things like this will not hurt us because we have a contract with Mythological Beasts, who were inside our body. Even if we drink a poison directly, there still won’t be any problems.” Yang Xi said.
