The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 479

Chapter 479 – The Sun Graveyard 3

After walking for more than an hour, Shen Yanxiao arrived at the entrance of the village.

Small houses nestled in the small village which were tightly close to each other, mottled walls were covered with grey, and the straw-stacked roofs looked extremely shabby.

Several villagers dressed in short-sleeves clothing with hoe in their hands were laughing inside the village.

Shen Yanxiao squinted her eyes, she finally understood why Du Lang did not doubt this village, which, at any rate, seemed so barren and simple.

The few passing villagers suddenly saw Shen Yanxiao and Vermilion Bird who stood at the village’s entrance. With a look of goodwill, they walked over to them with a simple and honest smile and said, “How can two children come here? Are you lost? There’s no other village here, you two must be tired.”

Shen Yanxiao did not say anything and just looked closely at the villager who started talking to them. Shen Yanxiao acutely sensed that the man’s goodwill was not camouflage, and those plain eyes could not be seen with any false hypocrisy either.

If it wasn’t for the unfathomable level of acting, then he was really simple and honest.

“Old Ba, you just had some summer radish in your house. Go get some for the two little ones.” Shen Yanxiao’s silence did not concern the villagers, but they were rather worried that the two boys were not safe in the wild outskirts, and eager to get them something to eat.

“Oh, I’ll go, Little Ke, you first take these two little guys to Uncle Jiu for them to rest, and also get them some water to drink.” The middle-aged man called Old Ba had a simple and honest face. He told them to look after the hoe and then ran back to get the food.

“You two don’t look very old, really pitiful. I’ll take you to drink some water and rest. Are you separated from your family? I will take you to Uncle Jiu, he is our village chief, let him think of ways to get you home.” Little Ke looked only in his early twenties, although not tall, his body was actually very strong.

It was not surprising that these villagers would think as such. Within a radius of a few hundred miles around, there were only their village. The reason for the sudden appearance of these two little ones was really hard to imagine. They could only think that Shen Yanxiao and Vermilion Bird were children separated from their family. Faced with two young helpless children, the simple villagers showed all their enthusiasm.

Vermilion Bird just wanted to speak, but he was stopped by Shen Yanxiao.

Shen Yanxiao pretended to be well-behaved and nodded, she did not utter a single sound.

Little Ke and two other villagers led Shen Yanxiao and Vermilion Bird and walked toward the village.

Shen Yanxiao noticed that the clothes on these people in front of her were very shabby, and they were all patched up. Even Little Ke’s shoes was worn out, the two big toes of his big feet were exposed on the outside, provoking a very sad feeling.

Along the way, they met some villagers again whose situation was similar to Little Ke’s.

The houses in the village seemed to have many years of history. Some of the roofs had already collapsed, yet some villagers were still living there.

The doors and windows of most houses there were incomplete. By all accounts, it was really an extreme barren village.

However, the villagers here were unusually kind and exceptionally helpful.

For Shen Yanxiao and Vermilion Bird, the two from a foreign family, the villagers did not ask much. Instead, they enthusiastically served some food and told Little Ke to bring them well to Uncle Jiu.
