The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 224

Chapter 224: Barren Land (1)

It didn’t take long before the whole Holy Roland School heard the rumor about a genius appearing in the Archer Branch.

After the battle ended, Shen Yanxiao was moved directly from the red class to the purple class, and since all of the purple class students had witnessed Shen Yanxiao’s talent in her match against Wan Li, they didn’t dare and try to offend her.

Many of the senior students also came to the purple class of the first grade to check out the new person that’s the talk of every student in the Holy Roland School.

But Shen Yanxiao was indifferent to all of these, she just continued to run back and forth in the two branches every day.

The Qilin Auction House had sent the first batch of low-level crystallic nucleus as scheduled.

A total of more than 3,000 low-level crystallic nuclei were put in Shen Yanxiao’s storage ring. And now that there was also the Purple Baron, she had no choice but to take out some hundreds of low-level crystallic nuclei from uncle Xiu’s mouth for her to keep.

In this regard, uncle Xiu was very dissatisfied.

The speed as how the Qilin Auction House collected the low-level crystallic nucleus was pretty good, but still couldn’t meet the needs of Xiu. More than three thousand low-level crystallic nuclei in more than three months, for the current Xiu, these were simply not enough to even fill the gap between his teeth.

But this was already the fastest way in obtaining the crystallic nucleus that Shen Yanxiao could think of. If not for having a strong financial support, she was afraid that even at this point, it would not be so easy to get her hands on some crystallic nucleus.

However, when Shen Yanxiao was almost at her wit’s end finding a source of crystallic nucleus, Tang Nazhi had brought her good news.

“After six months, all the academies in the entire Long Xuan Empire will participate in a competition. The winner will get the Emperor’s authorization to have a deserted city in the barren land as their territory.” Tang Nazhi took advantage of lunch time and told Shen Yanxiao the news he had just received.

“Territory?” Shen Yanxiao raised her eyebrows. Barren land was a region that was abandoned by the Radiance Continent. A long time ago, it was also a very prosperous land, but when the period of demons was at its peak, the land had been occupied by a large number of demons. Even though several countries had teamed up to sweep out a safe area, more places in the barren land have still been overrun by demons.

Unlike the low-level demons hidden in human settlements, the demons there were extremely powerful. These high-level demons had even occupied many of the abandoned cities to tame a group of low-level demons.

Barren land was basically the territory of the demons and no one dared to set foot in there, not even half a step.

“Give the abandoned areas of the barren land to the most powerful younger generations in the Long Xuan Empire… the Emperor’s plan is certainly good, heh.”Shen Yanxiao chuckled. From a civilian directly into a City Lord, it did seem to be a good deal, but that place was where the demons converged and even the armies of several countries were helpless. Giving such a dangerous place for young people to manage using their strength, it was just a superficial reward.

“That’s right. Without consuming too much force, we can expand the land outward by cleaning up the cities in the barren land. For the emperor, this is gaining hundreds of benefits without any harm.” Tang Nazhi was not interested at all in becoming a City Lord, he was more keen on the results of the competition.

The competition was the arena of the elites of the entire Long Xuan Empire, and the champion could be said to be the most powerful future star of the Long Xuan Empire.

This title was indeed very enticing.

“A city full of humans suddenly appearing in the territory of the demons, doesn’t that mean that the food are being delivered to the mouth of the demons?” Shen Yanxiao remarked.

Tang Nazhi laughed and said: “No, this competition is held every three years. This year is already the nineteenth, but as far as I know, among those winners of the previous eighteen competitions, only three had been successful in opening up a territory in the barren land. The rest had either went back to a safe place or had been directly eaten by the demons.”
