Chapter 26: Exploded

What did it mean by being afraid of fame? Mo Chu finally understood what this phrase meant.

It had been more than half a month since the ‘betting’ incident, but the attention on Mo Yang and her was still high. The two of them were not people who liked to be high-profile, so they simply stayed at home and cultivated in seclusion.

Mo Yang had just advanced to tier 6 and his foundation was still not stable. It was a good opportunity to strengthen it.

On the other hand, Mo Chu excitedly took out all the ingredients that she had gathered in the Dense Wood Forest, preparing to continue her culinary career.

Potatoes, cabbage, rice, Water Weed, and Hidden Silver Fishes. Looking at the table filled with ingredients, Mo Chu instantly felt as though she had been filled to the brim.

Thinking back to the grilled fish that she had cooked previously, Mo Chu could not help but lick her lips. She still remembered the taste!

Mo Chu was not a carnivore. However, having been in the Federation for such a long time, she had only tasted meat once. Now that she thought about it, she really felt pity for herself.

Why don’t I make fish soup today?

Mo Chu’s eyes lit up as soon as she thought about it. With quick movements, she picked out a few plump Silver Hidden Fishes. She removed the scales and flipped them over. Then, she cut the fish meat in the middle into pieces and wrapped them with Water Weed to remove the fishy smell.

She then looked at the remaining ingredients on the table. Mo Chu swallowed her saliva and decided to wash them all. She cut them into small pieces and put them aside. She would eat the fish soup today!

She turned on the heat and heated the pot, pouring oil into it.

When the oil was quite hot, Mo Chu put the Water Weed into the pot and stir-fried them. After stir-frying for a while, a faint fragrance came out of the pot.

Mo Chu added hot water calmly. After the water boiled, she placed the fish pieces into the pot and boiled them over a large fire. Finally, she placed the sliced potatoes, cabbage, and other ingredients into the pot and turned it into a small fire before slowly boiling it.

Time moved little by little, and the fragrance gradually became stronger.

Mo Yang had just finished his cultivation and came out of his room. When he saw this scene, he could not help but be slightly stunned. It was clearly just a few simple cooking moves, but when Mo Chu did it, it was very charming. It felt very good to just watch her cooking.

Before Mo Yang could take a closer look, Mo Chu had returned to her gluttonous nature. She actually stood beside the pot and sniffed from time to time. As she smelled the fragrance, her small face was filled with an intoxicated expression. That gluttonous look made Mo Yang laugh.

However, the smell made him drool. Mo Yang could not help but take a few steps closer. Raising his eyes, he saw the snow-white fish soup bubbling in the pot. There were potatoes and cabbage stuffed into the big pot, filling it to the brim. Just looking at it made one’s appetite rise.

“From the looks of it, our little Chu is preparing to become a food expert!” Mo Chu said jokingly.

In the Federation, there was no such profession as a chef. Instead, there were food experts. They specialized in researching how to obtain more energy from magical plants and magical beasts to turn them into food. For example, the nutrition capsule that Mo Chu had avoided was one of their handiwork.

Their jobs were stable, their benefits were high, and they were respected by people. If this were the 21st century, they would probably be a good unit that would make people want to squeeze their heads in.

However, Mo Chu was not very interested. Compared to all those cold and icy food, she preferred the food that she had created. Not only was it delicious, but it could also provide elemental energy. It was killing two birds with one stone, perfect!

Thinking of this, Mo Chu could not help but recall the time when they were making grilled fish in the Dense Wood Forest. Their energy levels had increased tremendously. If her initial assumption was correct, this pot of fish stew should also have a fusion of energy.

Thinking of this, Mo Chu could not help but feel a little nervous. Her gaze was fixated on the fish stew in the pot, unwilling to let it go for a moment.

Finally, just as the fish soup was about to come out of the pot, the rays of light from the few ingredients gradually intertwined together, as if they were communicating with each other and fusing together.

Seeing this, Mo Chu could not help but feel a sense of joy in her heart. It seemed that her thoughts were indeed correct!

However, before the smile on her face could be revealed, her brows furrowed first.

The rays of light in the pot had indeed fused together. However, this color was not the milky white color that she had seen previously. On the contrary, it was a faint grayish-black color.

Mo Chu still did not understand. However, in the blink of an eye, this faint grayish-black color had actually become denser, turning into an ink-black color.

For some unknown reason, a strong sense of unease surged up in his heart. Mo Chu panicked. “Big brother, quickly step back!”

Although Mo Yang did not understand, he subconsciously took a step or two back upon hearing this.

The two of them had just stepped back when the pot that was still emitting a strong fragrance suddenly began to churn violently. At this moment, even Mo Yang realized that something was wrong and hurriedly pulled Mo Chu back a few steps.

Pa–

A loud sound reverberated throughout the entire room!

The two of them retreated to the very end. Mo Yang waved his hand, and a thin layer of lightning acted like a solid barrier, protecting the two of them.

Immediately after, another few loud sounds rang out. Even the lightning barrier in front of them seemed to be forced by this huge impact force, and it actually expanded and bent until it became transparent. Mo Chu thought that it would be unable to withstand it and was about to crack, the explosion outside seemed to have finally calmed down, and the lightning barrier also returned to its original state.

After the commotion had completely disappeared, Mo Yang finally withdrew the lightning.

In front of the two of them was a complete mess.

The entire kitchen had been blasted clean, and even the pots and pans had exploded. There were actually a few obvious cracks on the wall, and the floor was filled with oil stains. Fragments and ingredients were scattered all over the floor.

This power left Mo Chu dumbstruck.

If it was not for Mo Yang’s quick movements, they would have been injured! When he thought of this, Mo Chu could not help but feel worried.

Not to mention Mo Chu, even Mo Yang was scared out of his wits.

Back when he rented the house, he had selected it for its high-security level. Even with his current skills, he was unable to shake this house in the slightest. However, looking at the few deep cracks on the wall, Mo Yang almost broke out in cold sweat.

Could it be that his sister was not cooking food, but a new type of weapon with a huge amount of energy?

“Brother,” Mo Chu raised her head with a mournful expression. “It’s over. I’ve blown up the house we’re staying in. I’ll definitely have to pay a lot of money!”

Mo Yang’s originally heavy mood was suddenly disrupted by these words. He could not help but rub Mo Chu’s head in amusement. “Don’t worry, I can still afford this bit of money.”

His sister’s brain was clearly not working properly. This was not the time to worry about money, right?
