The CEO's Villainess Childhood Friend Chapter 67 – Inexplicably Familiar (Chapter 7)

Chapter 67: Inexplicably Familiar (7)

“I take back what I said about not watching ‘First Light of Dawn,’ I’m going to follow the series from now on!”

“I’m going to watch the drama too! I’m looking forward to it!”

……

Feng Dao never expected it, but in just an hour, both Qiao Moyu’s and Ye Peicheng’s Webo were filled with praises; the public opinion was completely reversed.

The black powder on the drama’s comment section was gradually reduced and replaced by positive comments. They were all asking whether the drama team could update some tidbits about the drama from time to time, since everyone was looking forward to seeing it. However, there was still quite a while before the first episode was going to broadcast, so it will be a difficult wait for the audience.

Happy to see such a discussion, Feng Dao promised them: “Okay, I’ll publish some tidbits on a regular basis to thank you all for your attention!”

That night, Qiao Moyu discovered that Ye Peicheng praised her online and that the scalding comments had reduced. She suddenly felt relieved.

Qiao Moyu took a bath, changed her clothes, then lay in bed unable to sleep. She couldn’t help but think of this recent event over and over again.

Shouldn’t she thank Ye Peicheng for helping her? But he doesn’t seem to need anything. How can she thank him?

Unable to sleep, Moyu simply got up, took the script, and came out of her room.

The drama crew had secured an entire villa in Silver City in order to shoot for their drama, so even if they walked out, they wouldn’t have to worry about being surrounded by fans or reporters.

Silver City was located north. The temperature in this suburb was a little low at night, but Qiao Moyu wasn’t afraid of the cold. She took her script, found a pavilion to sit down, and began to read it under the moonlight.

The plot to be performed tomorrow was more life-like. Her character followed her master in order to train in gunmanship in the military. For the first time, she met the heavily injured Ye Peicheng and took care of him.

After experiencing her fiasco on Weibo, Qiao Moyu realized that she didn’t have to fear as long as she relied on her acting skills to prove herself.

As she read, Qiao Moyu suddenly noticed a shadow on the ground ahead. She looked up and saw Ye Peicheng coming towards her in his home clothes.

The moonlight shone on him, making him glow.

He stood in front her and she got up quickly.

She was much shorter than him since she only wore slippers. Qiao Moyu looked up and smiled at him: “Film Emperor Ye, thank you for today’s business.”

He knew that she was referring to his compliments, but she had no idea that the so called ‘distraction photos’ were only exposed because he permitted it. Otherwise, it wouldn’t been revealed so quickly on the day of filming.

Ye Peicheng looked down at the actress before him. Her cheeks were white and delicate. After removing her makeup, she had a more distinct taste than usual, since her cheeks reflected the bright moonlight, so white that she seemed to shine.

He asked her: “Why didn’t you say that I picked up the money off the ground?”

Qiao Moyu shyly laughed and replied: “Because Film Emperor Ye isn’t short on money, so fans wouldn’t believe that you’d pick up the 150 yuan. If I said it was me, they’d believe it.”

She always gave him a certain feeling. Sometimes she was cautious and other times she’s simple and straightforward, like a piece of white paper. Ye Peicheng’s eyes slipped from her face to the papers in her hand. “Are you studying the script?” he asked.

Qiao Moyu nodded: “Well, I know that I’m inexperienced, so I’m studying ahead. I hope I won’t delay our shooting tomorrow and finish the shooting in one take.”

“Is there anything you don’t understand?” he asked.

“There is!” Qiao Moyu handed over the script to him and said, “Film Emperor Ye, it’s this part. Master had me swear here, but I hesitated to make the promise. I don’t know what kind of emotions I should have here.”

As Ye Peicheng reached for the script, his eyes fell on Qiao Moyu’s wrist. Under the moon, her write and slender wrists reminded him of the girl in the hotel that day.

For a moment he was distracted. He finally got ahold of himself and reacted, then taught her how to manage her emotions on this script.

Qiao Moyu seldom had such a good opportunity. Of course, she was modest in seeking advice. She also asked him about other uncertainties she had.
