Chapter 335: Clean out (1)

K-Mart

It was an old and half-destroyed building. But it still was intact and had a large space within. The expedition team from Dentrion Kingdom first found the building. Dentrion quickly dispatched a large portion of their forces to occupy the place. After it was fixed and excavated, the K-Mart building had not turned into headquarters for the Alliance. With small buildings built around it to house soldiers and merchants, the area now turned into a small town or a city.

“Hey! This is a restricted area! Go back!”

“Ugh, okay.”

A man answered and turned his horse carriage around. Similar sights were happening around the area.

“This is a restricted area! Please identify yourself.”

“I am Count Vince of Dentrion Kingdom. Do you not know who I am?”

The man seemed to be deeply bothered. The soldier who blocked the path became shocked and another man from within the post ran out.

“Oh! Count Vince! I apologize. This new guy is still learning. I will make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

“Hmph! Good. I will make this an exception then.”

The count smiled. The man, who seemed to be a knight, then pointed inside toward the meeting area.

“Yes, sir. The meeting has started. Please go ahead, sir.”

“Oh, yes.”

Count Vince quickly moved his chubby body toward the meeting room. The knight, Benjamin, then sighed.

“Ugh, bastard. Count, what? Hah!”

“S-sir Benjamin!”

“Recruit.”

“Yes, sir!”

The new soldier saluted and Benjamin sighed again.

“It’s okay since you made a mistake, but try to be careful. If you think the person looks like a noble, then let them pass through. Or you might get into trouble that even I can’t save you from. Got it?”

“Yes, sir!”

In the meeting area Count Vince entered, many nobles were hotly debating between themselves across a large table. There were many more tables, each with tens of nobles sitting at them.

‘They’re all here.’

Vince sat down on an empty chair.

‘Why are there still so many?’

The Alliance had gone through huge trouble after the Khalodian Empire found out the Alliance had been trading drugs. Many high-ranking nobles were put to death by the Empire, and the Alliance couldn’t protect them. Vince was also asked to join the trade, but he was hesitant as he didn’t like the pay compared to the risk. If he joined, then he too would have been put to death.

‘Dammit. No need to think about that now.’

At that moment, a noble slammed on the table and got up. He seemed very furious. All other nobles on his table also seemed very furious.

“This is a serious breach against our rights!”

“Yes! Coexistence? Agreement? Who are they to decide such a matter?”

“The Khalodian Empire isn’t the only country that’s here! It’s not up to them to decide!”

“Yes! We have the right to decide on how we should act!”

“We must renegotiate with the dragons again!”

The meeting area quickly filled with insults and uproars against the Khallodian Empire.

“Okay, calm down everyone. We should talk about how to resolve this issue. Please share if you have an idea.”

Marquis Billodon, the chairman of the meeting, spoke out and Baron Reind stood up.

“We should check if the rumor is true first. We cannot just accept what Khalodian forces on us. How can we believe that the dragons are beings that can be spoken to? Have anyone of you ever talked to dragons? We need to make sure if it is indeed the truth.”

Many nobles then began to speak furiously again.

‘Hm… this isn’t good.’

Count Vince didn’t seem all that pleased by the atmosphere within the area.

‘This really isn’t good… since when we could mess with the Empire? What’s happening here?’

Vince looked around. There was the reason for the change in the atmosphere of course.

‘Survivors… it’s those bastards.’
