Chapter 297: Goblin labyrinth (1)

“Ugh, it’s cold.”

“Yeah…”

A soldier shivered from the fierce winter wind. The severe cold was slowing down the troops. They chatted with each other to forget about the cold and boredom while marching through the snowy mountain.

“Stop! Keep silent from now on!”

The soldiers fell silent and began to move quietly. They moved cautiously through the snow without any words, then after a while, the soldiers in the front quickly raised a hand high in the air. The entire troop stopped at the signal.

“Set down the barbed wire and cover it with snow!”

Some soldiers then moved out to set down the barbed wire. Other soldiers from behind then sent out hundreds of drones to search the area. After confirming the location of the goblins, an expedition army of two hundred thousand was sent to wipe out the goblins. The first thing the army decided to do was to surround the entire mountain that the goblins had taken up residence in. The goblins were confirmed to be living deep underground. Their residence wasn’t just a shallow cave, but a network of caves buried deep in the mountains. It was complicated and there were many openings throughout the mountain range. The soldiers readied to barricade every possible opening.

With their elite forces, Joonbum and Jinpok were looking into the goblin nests first hand.

“They are not just any monsters.”

Joonbum shook his head as he checked it. What was amazing was the size and scale of the fortress that the goblins had built. The large fortress was built to hide the entrance of their cave. It was crudely made, but it was large and safe enough to use to defend their entrance against other monsters.

“Hmph. I think that looks like a goblin warrior.”

Hectos pointed at a goblin walking back and forth on top of the fortress. It was larger than regular goblins.

“It has armor as well!” Jinpok spat as he looked at it. Goblin warriors had armor and could use various weapons such as bows and spears.

“They probably can fight back large monsters from there too.”

“I didn’t know they were that smart…”

“Hey, Joonbum. Are they like the movie Planet of the Apes? But with goblins?”

“Huh?”

Jinpok mumbled as Joonbum became dumbfounded.

“Wait..”

Joonbum then thought of an idea. Goblins were monsters that could communicate.

“Maybe we have a chance.”

“Huh? A chance for?” Jinpok asked but Joonbum looked determined. Just then, a helicopter flew over them.

“Bird! Human! Bird!”

Goblins began to raise a ruckus from within the fortress. Then, they began to stream out in large numbers from the fortress.

“Ambush! Sky!”

The goblins were ready to fight back at the appearance of the helicopters.

“But for now…”

Joonbum narrowed his eyes…
