Chapter 138: Believed in the Law

Everything that had happened last night had exceeded her expectations. However, in the end, she still had herself to blame.

She had missed two opportunities to escape safely. One was when she was leaving the room, and the other was when she was calling the police. She put herself in danger. She had overestimated herself.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to protect you.”

Luo Tao didn’t sleep the whole night. Looking at Mo Yan’s unconscious appearance, Luo Tao kept thinking that if he had arrived faster, would she not have done such a crazy thing?

Luo Tao blamed himself. The reality was that he could do nothing as he looked at Mo Yan on the hospital bed.

He had been interrupted twice now. Luo Tao wanted to confess his identity, but he did not succeed.

“Look, you’re apologizing again. If you really want to blame someone, then it should be those who want to harm me. Oh right, have those people been caught?”

Mo Yan asked this question not only because she wanted to know the answer, but also to divert Luo Tao’s attention.

Hearing Mo Yan’s question, Luo Tao’s eyes quickly turned vicious.

“We’ve caught the two people who took you away, and we’re still interrogating them.”

“What about the phone? The phone I was holding should have information about the mastermind.”

Although Mo Yan was anxious, she still did not mention the name Mo Lian.

“The phone was damaged when you jumped out of the car. The police are trying to recover the data.”

Then, Luo Tao told Mo Yan about what happened last night.

“Why did those people kidnap you?” Luo Tao asked.

Mo Yan shook her head. “I don’t know the reason. There’s a password on the phone. I can’t open it.”

Feeling that Mo Yan had been sitting up for a long time, Luo Tao helped her back to the bed and held her hand. “Let’s go back to C City!”

Luo Tao knew that Du Jing had interrupted him on purpose. Something must have happened again.

Mo Yan looked at Luo Tao’s sad expression, and her eyes were a little moist. She had been in Jing City for less than half a month, and too many things had happened. First, there was a problem at work, and then there was an accident at the party…

Party… Lin Group’s senior management… Jing J·6618R…

Something seemed to be connecting in Mo Yan’s mind.

Last night, Mo Lian invited her out, wanted to drug her and take her to a villa.

So it was to make her hook up with the Lin Group’s young master? This process was really similar to the time when Zhou Shuai plotted against her…

Mo Yan’s lips curled into a sneer. She figured out who the mastermind was, and the phone that Mo Lian had used to contact that person was evidence.

Luo Tao looked at Mo Yan’s changing expression, and his heart tightened again. At this moment, he suddenly wished that she would turn back into the Mo Yan who did not know anything and needed him to come out to protect her.

Mo Yan held Luo Tao’s hand and said with a smile, “Yes, let’s go back to C City.”

Looking at Mo Yan’s smile, Luo Tao once again thought of Mo Yan lying in his arms last night. No matter how he called her name, she did not react. She was clearly covered in wounds, but she did not show any expression. It was as if she had just fallen asleep, forever asleep.

Stroking Mo Yan’s hair, Luo Tao asked softly, “If you know who wanted to harm you, how will you take revenge?”

Mo Yan looked down. She already knew who wanted to harm her.

How would she take revenge? Mo Yan’s lips curled into a smile. “There is evidence in the phone. I think even if I don’t take revenge on them, they will be punished by the law. We live in a society ruled by law! Don’t always talk about revenge, it’s so scary.”

Luo Tao saw that she was smiling like a mischievous child, and his eyes darkened. If this was what Mo Yan wanted, then he was willing to do it for her.

Jing J·6618R. He had already remembered whose license plate it was. It was not easy to punish the Lin family. But his wife said to follow the legal procedure, so he would do it! He would get people to take care of him.

Mo Yan felt comfortable being touched by Luo Tao. She rubbed her face coquettishly against Luo Tao’s hand.

There were many things that she could not tell Luo Tao about last night, and Luo Tao’s not asking made her feel much more relaxed.

Wait a little longer, just wait. When life calmed down, she would tell Luo Tao everything. She wanted to live with him as Mo Yan.
