Chapter 104: Thinking of You

Mo Yan tapped on Luo Tao’s contact number and hesitated whether she should call him. Suddenly, she received a message from Luo Tao.

[Are you asleep?]

[Not yet.] Mo Yan typed two words in surprise.

[Are you free to call me?]

This time, Mo Yan did not reply to him. Instead, she called him.

“Hello?”

The man’s deep voice made Mo Yan’s heart palpitate.

“Luo Tao, why aren’t you asleep? It’s almost 12 o’clock.”

Although she was glad that Luo Tao texted her right when she wanted to call him, Mo Yan still nagged at him.

Luo Tao leaned against the railing of the balcony and glanced at the few people who were still drinking in the villa. He said to Mo Yan, “I’m thinking of you. I can’t sleep.”

Luo Tao didn’t want to go out tonight, but Qin Yuan and the others decided to crash his house. Luo Tao had no choice but to follow them out.

As for why Qin Yuan was in Jing City? Thinking of this, Luo Tao could only sneer.

The reason he gave him was that his father said that in celebration of the resurrection of the young master of the Huo family, they would hold a welcome back party.

Please! Did he think he would believe him? It was obvious that he came back to party in Jing City.

However, it’s not all bad with Qin Yuan here. It would be easier for him to get Qin Yuan to do stuff.

Qin Yuan did not know of Huo Zhen’s plans for him. He was busy trying to persuade the people around him to drink. Suddenly, he shouted at the balcony, “Huo Zhen, what are you doing? Hurry back and drink some more wine.”

“What’s that sound from your end?” Mo Yan seemed to have heard something.

“I’m calling you from the balcony. There are drunk people acting crazy downstairs.”

Luo Tao’s ability to lie was getting better and better. Those who did not know the truth would think that what he said was true.

“Oh, I see!”

Mo Yan nodded in the bathtub. Her arms were moving, and Luo Tao heard the sound of water through the phone.

“Are you washing up?” Luo Tao asked.

Realizing that she was calling him naked, Mo Yan’s face instantly changed.

Luo Tao realized what was going on. His breathing slowly become heavier. “Taking a bath?”

This time, Mo Yan did not answer. She was too shy.

Luo Tao did not speak for a long time, as if he was trying hard to calm his emotions. Listening to his gradually calming breathing, Mo Yan’s ears itched.

“I miss you. Do you miss me?”

Mo Yan wanted to reply him directly when she heard Luo Tao’s question, but she also wanted to tease him. “I just left, and you miss me already! If I have to go on business trips more frequently in the future, what are you going to do?”

This question seemed to have really stumped Luo Tao. After a while, he said, “I can’t think of anything.”

Mo Yan laughed out loud at his teasing. Luo Tao’s expression became gentler as he listened to her voice.

The problem Mo Yan mentioned was not difficult to solve. In the future, if she had to go on business trips, he would accompany her. If she felt that her work was too tiring, then the two of them would travel around the world and play around. As long as she was by his side, it would be fine.

“How about this? In the future, I will bring you everywhere and put you in my pocket. You will follow me every step I take.”

The more Mo Yan teased Luo Tao, the more she smiled. The annoyance that she had suppressed in her heart seemed to have disappeared quite a bit.

“Okay, bring me with you wherever you go.”

Luo Tao looked at the night sky. He could almost imagine Mo Yan’s facial expression with every word that Mo Yan said.

Luo Tao waited until Mo Yan finished laughing before he brought up the matter that he wanted to ask about.

“How do you feel about Lin Group’s project? Is it very difficult to plan for?”

Luo Tao was too busy to meet with the Lin family today. From what his subordinates had told him, it seemed that Lin Group had another motive for finding people to cooperate with. He was afraid of the implications it would have on Mo Yan.

Mo Yan’s smile instantly froze. However, in order to not make Luo Tao worry, she still tried her best to say calmly, “It’s alright. After the field inspection, we can start on the plan.”

No matter how Mo Yan tried to cover up her feelings, she still couldn’t deceive Luo Tao who knew her mannerisms very well.

“Did something happen?” Luo Tao asked.

“No! Why are you suddenly asking?”

Mo Yan wanted to stay calm.

This was so she could calmly organize the information, win arguments with Chen Ya, tease Xu Wan, and praise Xu Tian’s appearance.

However, when someone poked on Mo Yan’s pretense of being strong, the self-blame and grievance that were buried deep in her heart would gush out like a flood, and she would no longer be able to stay rational.

Luo Tao did not force her. When she wanted to tell him, he would become a listener.
