Chapter 569: Bestowment

Green Touring Palace, main hall.

The black-haired elder, the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure, was chatting with an elderly woman.

“Master, the Fiend Ancestor is getting more and more fearless. He even took action with his strongest destruction body and snuck up on that monkey. Thankfully, Buddhist Ancestor Gautama took timely action and prevented the Fiend Ancestor from succeeding,” said the elderly woman angrily. “Despite being a mighty Fiend Ancestor, he actually attacked juniors. It’s truly disgusting.”

“Wudang,” said the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure with a smile. “Your Junior Brother Qin Yun has reduced everything he had schemed over all these years to naught. He’s in an anxious state! Therefore, when the various mighty figures appeared to kill more Skyfiends, he stooped to sneaking up on that monkey without any regard for his stature. He wanted to refine the monkey to replace his losses. Hmph, how could we allow his wish to come true? You don’t have to worry either. He was only making final, desperate attempts.”

“I understand that he won’t last much longer,” said the elderly woman. “However, it is the final struggles that are the most deranged.”

“With me, Elderly Lord, and company around, he won’t amount to much,” said the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure. “As for you, you need to focus on cultivation. When I no longer exist, the Green Touring Palace lineage will depend on you. Your Junior Brother Qin Yun could have helped share a burden of your load, but he hastened his tribulations and turned into an Itinerant Immortal…”

The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure suddenly pricked up his brows. “Speak of the devil.”

A voice sounded from outside. “Master, Senior Brother Qin Yun wishes to seek an audience.”

“Let him in,” said the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure.

Soon, Qin Yun walked in.

The moment he entered, Qin Yun was also somewhat surprised by the sight of the elderly woman inside the main hall.

Qin Yun immediately knew that she was the leader of all the disciples of Green Touring Palace—Eldest Senior Sister Old Mother of Blackfoal Mountain! She had extremely high standing and she was an existence at the perfected Golden Immortal realm.

“Eldest Senior Sister.” Qin Yun bowed.

“Junior Brother, you did very well in destroying the groundwork laid by the fiends in the twenty-six dominions.” Old Mother of Blackfoal Mountain smiled. “You really raised our Green Touring Palace’s reputation.”

“I just did what I was capable of,” said Qin Yun with a smile.

Old Mother of Blackfoal Mountain smiled without a word.

The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure looked at Qin Yun and asked, “I take it that you coming to see me means you have you thought carefully about what you want from me?”

“Yes,” Qin Yun nodded. “I need a Connate Wonder that is suitable for nurturing flying swords.”

“Just a Connate Wonder?” his eldest senior sister exclaimed from the side. “Junior Brother, your fellow disciples who gain insights into a Great Dao would usually request a Connate Numinous treasure that suits them the best. You managed to gain insights into a pinnacle Great Dao. It’s best you choose a Connate Numinous treasure that’s most suitable for you! After all, Connate Wonders are easily found, but Connate Numinous treasures aren’t.”

Connate Wonders were materials after all.

Connate Numinous treasures… were the truly rare thing! To find one that perfectly suited a cultivator was even rarer!

“Your eldest senior sister is right,” said the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure with a smile. “Connate Wonders are easily exchanged, but few would be willing to exchange truly powerful Connate Numinous treasures.”

“I do not need that,” said Qin Yun. “I have an Intrinsic Flying Sword, as well as the Qingping Sword you lent me. One sword to kill the enemy and one sword to protect myself. It’s sufficient!”

The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure nodded. “Alright, since you wish for a Connate Wonder…”

With that said, he waved his hand.

Swoosh.

Immediately, a black piece of flat rock about ten feet long appeared. Its surface was uneven with golden light dotting it. The sharp aura it had sliced through the surrounding void.

“Chaos Pure Gold?” Qin Yun revealed a look of glee. “The Chaos Pure Gold I received the last time in the Star Cluster Hall was only about half the size of a person, but this is about ten feet long, about six times the previous one.”

The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure said, “You have already gained insights into a pinnacle Great Dao, so just this Chaos Pure Gold combined with other supplementary items will be sufficient to nurture your Intrinsic Flying Sword to the level of a Connate Pinnacle Numinous treasure.”

“Thank you, Master,” said Qin Yun gratefully with joy.

Previously, Qin Yun had managed to rely on half a human-sized Chaos Pure Gold as well as Water of the First Essence, Expanding Soil, and the other Connate Wonders to allow his Intrinsic Flying Sword to make a natural breakthrough which produced a Sword Dao at the ordinary Great Dao level. In fact, after expending too many Connate Wonders, the requirements became more stringent as well.

Now, he himself grasped a pinnacle Great Dao and his Intrinsic Flying Sword was now a lot less strict in what materials it needed as its core was a pinnacle Great Dao. Only about five times the amount used before was needed to nurture it into a Connate Pinnacle Numinous treasure.

His master had resolved the most precious and important Chaos Pure Gold for him. As for the other Connate Wonders? For Qin Yun, who had killed Star Destruction, and wiped out the twenty-six dominions and killed so many Skyfiends, it was naturally an easy task to amass them.

Qin Yun put away the Chaos Pure Gold.

“By the way,” said the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure with a smile. “You will soon be letting your Essence Soul breakthrough, so you will likely need to move from the Great Chang world. You can move to the Heavenly realm. There, I can take action at any time. The fiends would not dare to do a thing there.”

“Junior Brother, you can pay the Heavenly realm a visit and be my neighbor,” said his eldest senior sister with a smile.

Qin Yun’s heart stirred.

Heavenly realm?

That’s right.

That was the true core of the Three Realms. There were numerous mighty figures and it was where the strongest powers of their side were concentrated. The fiends did not dare reach into the Heavenly realm. Besides, the Heavenly realm was vast and would be very conducive to his children’s cultivation and experiential training.

But he still needed to discuss with Xiaoxiao on this matter.

“Master, I’m temporarily in no hurry to make an Essence Soul breakthrough,” said Qin Yun.

“No hurry?” The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure frowned slightly. “As an Itinerant Immortal, time is extremely precious. Every year, and even every day, is very important. You obviously have to allow your Essence Soul to break through immediately so as to speed up your cultivation!”

Qin Yun replied politely, “That Patriarch Bojia has been scheming against my homeworld, the Great Chang world. The Fiend Ancestor tried to entice me with the secret of the Great Chang world. I now plan on seeking out Skyfiend Kuifu’s avatar through the river of time to discover the secret of my homeworld.

“However, the search for the Great Chang world’s past through the river of time, and finding Skyfiend Kuifu’s avatar through the memories of billions of lifeforms, is quite difficult. Only with my true body inside the Great Chang world would I be able to make any progress,” said Qin Yun. “However, to seek out Kuifu’s avatar from yesteryear, I still need to cultivate in the Rosa Multiflora Sword Chart. Once my cultivation reaches a deeper level, I believe I can unravel the secret of the Great Chang world.

“Only then can I cultivate in peace.”

The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure frowned slightly.

“I became an Itinerant Immortal to protect my homeworld. If I cannot solve the problem at its root, the Great Chang world will suffer another calamity in the future. I would die indignant,” said Qin Yun.

“Do whatever you wish to do.” The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure gently waved his hand.

“Your humble disciple bids you farewell.”

Qin Yun immediately took his leave.

As she watched Qin Yun leave, the Old Mother of Blackfoal Mountain immediately said with a smile, “Master, don’t be angry. Junior Brother’s temperament is as such. If a carefree and eternal life was his goal, he would have escaped with Yang Jian back when Star Destruction went to the Great Chang world. Since he chose to transcend the tribulations to become an Itinerant Immortal, he has already resolved himself to a path. Now, if he can’t unravel the secret of his homeworld, he will not be able to cultivate in peace. It will become a lingering obsession of his! Perhaps only with such a passion can one become a sword immortal and directly gain insights into a pinnacle Great Dao.”

“I know his temperament, but there’s only slightly more than ten thousand years left. Every year passed is one year fewer. I’m just feeling anxious for him!” The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure shook his head. “If he can attain a perfected Great Dao, he would be more powerful than Bai Ze from the past as a perfected Great Dao sword immortal. Furthermore, I will think of means to help his Intrinsic Flying Sword be nurtured to the Connate Cardinal treasure level. A perfected Great Dao sword immortal with an Intrinsic Connate Cardinal treasure in hand might be able to survive the twelfth Itinerant Immortal tribulation.”

“But all of this only works under the premise that he attains a perfected Great Dao! If he doesn’t attain that, everything is pointless,” said the Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure. “I have always been thinking that in the future, when the Green Touring Palace lineage has you and your junior brother, the both of you shouldering the burden would leave me at ease. But now, he’s wasting his time!”

“A beard lathered is half shaved,” said Old Mother of Blackfoal Mountain with a smile. “Master, Junior Brother’s Dao heart will be more flawless once he resolves the calamity his homeworld faces. Perhaps it would even aid his cultivation even more.”

“Let’s hope it’s as you say.” The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure nodded.

…

Elsewhere in Green Touring Palace.

Qin Yun walked through the halls. He could sense the displeasure of his master, but he never hesitated in things he ought to do or regretted his choices.

“Senior Brother Qin.”

“Senior Brother Qin.”

Many disciples greeted him reverently along the way.

Qin Yun was now one of the top ten existences in Green Touring Palace. These disciples who were mainly sixth-firmament disciples rarely had a chance to see such powerful senior brothers or sisters.

“Myriad Dharma Repository.” Qin Yun soon arrived in front of Myriad Dharma Repository which was lofty with its nine floors.

“Entry into the Myriad Dharma Repository’s ninth floor requires attainment of a Golden Immortal Dao fruit. Legend has it that there are Dharmic formulations that can only be cultivated by those who grasp a Great Dao. There are also all sorts of secrets of the Three Realms in it.” Qin Yun had always been very curious over the Myriad Dharma Repository’s ninth floor. He immediately strode in.
