Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 195: A Bet

Chapter 195: A Bet

Lin Xiao still didn’t know much about the examination ground, but he had heard it back then when they first started. There were a total of 15 examination ground level and they have to pass all of them to be able to graduate in time.

“Examination ground? Do you really think that a puny brat like you will be able to pass?” Teacher Su Luo asked while laughing. “Let me tell you first, if you can’t reach Golden Core Stage Rank 2, you’ll never be able to pass the examination ground and graduated. There are 1000 students who got accepted each year, but do you know that only around 10 percent will be able to graduate each year?”

10 percent?

Now the students were speechless. They had heard about the hard examination and all, along with the low graduate. But to think that there were only around 100 people who would graduate from their ranks.

Looking at each other, they felt chills creeping on their back at the thought that hundreds of them would eventually die on their path to become powerful cultivator.

“10 percent?” Lin Xiao’s lips curled up to form a mocking smile.

On the side, Lin Yun knew better than anyone what it meant when Lin Xiao showed that kind of smile. He closed his eyes and sighed. Lin Xiao would surely want to challenge them all by saying that he would surely make it to that 10 percent no matter what.

“I’ll make it.” Lin Xiao shrugged. “Besides, a cultivator will always be ready for challenge and will surely not back down in front of that kind of challenge. I’ll make it to that 10 percent, Teacher Su Luo.”

Teacher Su Luo sneered. “That 10 percent is you overestimating yourself. How many cultivators have fallen in their path? Do you really think that you can last for long?”

Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows. “In that case, I’ll just challenge the examination ground. There are 15 stages and I believe there’s requirement for each stage.”

“1-3 for Body Training, 4-6 for Foundation Establishment, 7-9 for Golden Core Stage Rank 1, 10-15 for Golden Core Stage Rank 2. Do you really think you can pass all of them?” Teacher Su Luo asked in conceding tone.

“10 to 15 is for Golden Core Stage Rank 2? How are we supposed to pass that?” a student was utterly speechless. The requirement for them to graduate was to become Golden Core Stage Rank 2. If they have to pass the examination ground until level 15, wouldn’t it mean that they might not even be able to pass?

Teacher Su Luo glanced at the student who screamed, clearly feeling indignant. “You puny brat is thinking about graduating? You can graduate as long as you can pass the 10th stage. However, you’ll only graduate as ordinary cultivator. How many geniuses do you think will be able to pass the 15th?”

The students sucked up their breath. They felt that 10 years or more sounded to be extremely long. But now… they were no longer thinking like that. it felt as if they wouldn’t be able to stay still and have to train harder and harder if they wished to be able to graduate safely.

Those who were younger felt luckier because they could stay longer in the academy.

“In that case, let’s make a bet. In a year’s time, I’ll pass the fifth stage of the examination ground,” Lin Xiao said in confidence.

Fifth stage?

Everyone looked at Lin Xiao with disbelief. The current Lin Xiao was only at Body Training Rank 10. If he wanted to pass the fifth stage, he would need to reach Foundation Establishment and based on what they thought, he would not be able to reach it that fast.

“A year?” Teacher Su Luo laughed. “You won’t be able to pass it even in three years’ time. How many times do you think your seniors have tried it in the past and still unable to pass it? For someone with weak aptitude like you, even passing in three years’ time is already a miracle.”

Lin Xiao narrowed his eyes. “So, you’re saying that I won’t be able to pass it in three years’ time?”

“Yes.”

“In that case, I’ll pass it.” Lin Xiao shrugged nonchalantly. His action looked like he only made simple declaration and not a courageous declaration like what he did just now. Many students looked in his direction with astonished expression as they couldn’t believe that this small brat dared to say it in front of them all.

Did he not worry that he would want to back down?

Lin Xiao was full of confidence with himself. He knew that having dragon power and also the Lake Dragon inside his body would surely allow him to grow even stronger faster. Because of that, he was confident that in three years’ time, he would be able to pass the stage.

“Mark your words today. What if you can’t pass the stage?”

“I’ll drop out.”

Whaaa?

The students’ eyes turned large when they looked in Lin Xiao’s direction. They couldn’t believe that he dared to say something like that.

Even Princess Lan Yi Hua was stunned by Lin Xiao’s sudden declaration. She raised her head and looked at him with worry. She wouldn’t want to let Lin Xiao bet his future just because of some quibble of the teachers with her.

As someone who was always compared to her sister, Princess Lan Yi Hua had long gotten used to it.

However, when Lin Xiao saw her gaze, he merely winked.

Other men nearby: “…” how courageous of him to flirt in times like this.

Princess Lan Yi Hua was stunned. She looked at him carefully then asked, “Are you… sure?”

“Yes. Don’t worry.”

Lin Xiao smiled brightly. Something like this was barely any challenge. He had already encountered several life and death’s situation back in the village. Raising his head, he looked at the teacher. “But if I pass, I want you to resign.”
