Lin Yun looked at the completely different decorations in front of her and smiled.

“They really dote on me! However, most importantly, they respect my preferences,” Lin Yun said with a smile.

Ever since she returned to this house, she finally felt what it meant to live comfortably.

Wang Qi sat on the ground openly and even pulled Lin Yun to sit down. “I used to wonder why you didn’t look like Aunt and Uncle at all.”

“So…” Wang Qi smiled. “This is great. You’re so lucky to have your parents and brothers who love you so much!”

When Lin Yun heard the envy in Wang Qi’s tone, she hesitated for a moment before asking, “How’s your grandfather?”

Wang Qi shrugged and said, “He’s fine, but his constitution is not as good as before.”

“I’ve asked the doctor. It’s probably very difficult for Grandpa’s body to recover to its previous state.”

“If I catch the person who got Grandpa into this state, I’ll definitely let him have a taste of living a life worse than death!”

“Don’t be rash!” Lin Yun grabbed Wang Qi’s hand and said seriously. She did not want Wang Qi to ruin her life because of those people!

Wang Qi smiled and said, “Aiya, I was just saying! Do I look like such a brutal person!”

Lin Yun pursed her lips and didn’t say anything. After a long time, she said, “How’s the company?”

Wang Qi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “My father saw that Grandpa was lying on the hospital bed and couldn’t move, so he held a shareholders’ meeting and became the temporary chairman.”

“But you know those old people in the company very well. How can they be willing to listen to him!”

“He’s just acting out a monkey show for the outside world!”

“However, after this incident, the Wang Corporation’s share price has fallen a lot. I heard that Uncle has also suffered a lot of losses…”

As Wang Qi spoke, she glanced at Lin Yun. “It’s said that the Lin Corporation hasn’t been in a good state for the past few months. Uncle has been looking for collaborative investment projects everywhere, but they’ve always been secretly intercepted.”

When Lin Yun heard Wang Qi’s words, her eyes moved as if she had thought of something.

However, she did not say anything. She only listened to Wang Qi ramble on about the Lin family and the Wang family.

The two of them chatted until late at night before lying on the bed together and falling asleep.

….

The next afternoon, Lin Yun arrived at the cafe as promised.

She took a deep breath before pushing open the door and walking in.

She had already spoken to Aunt Xu on the phone and confirmed that Aunt Xu and Shao Yi had returned to Aunt Xu’s hometown and wouldn’t be back for the time being.

As for what was going on with Shao Yi’s case, she could only ask Lu Chen.

Lin Yun walked into the cafe and saw Ning Kun walking towards her.

“Miss Lin, you’re here,” Ning Kun said politely to Lin Yun.

Lin Yun smiled and nodded. “Assistant Ning, please lead the way.”

Ning Kun turned around and brought Lin Yun to a semi-open private room near the corner.

Lu Chen was still sitting in the wheelchair and making a call. Seeing this, Lin Yun did not walk in immediately. Instead, she stood outside and waited quietly.

Lu Chen seemed to have noticed Lin Yun’s actions. He waved at her and gestured for her to enter.

Lin Yun walked into the private room and sat down in front of Lu Chen.

Lu Chen said a few words and hung up.

“Miss Lin is very punctual,” Lu Chen said calmly.

Lin Yun smiled at Lu Chen. “CEO Lu is also very punctual.”

Lu Chen raised his eyebrows and said, “Have you considered my suggestion last time, Miss Lin?”

Lin Yun said with a serious expression, “CEO Lu, I’m really not worthy.”
