Rebirth: Pampered Wife’s Counterattack Chapter 176 – Innocent?

Chapter 176: Innocent?

“I’m living at the Fang home right now.” Fang Xinxin did not wish to lie to him. “I’ll watch out for myself. There’s no need for you to worry.”

“Xinxin, it’s better if you’re with Bai Qinghao…”

“There are a lot of matters which I can only understand if I remain in the Fang home. Brother, you’ve also noticed that something is amiss with the Fang family. But you don’t have any evidence, right?” Otherwise, he would definitely have told her about it.

Fang Shaohua nodded helplessly. He understood that though Xinxin’s character was soft, when she set her mind on something, there was no way to persuade her to bend her will. “You have to be careful then.”

“I will be.”

Fang Shaohua seemed to have thought of something. He suddenly spoke in a flustered tone. “Xinxin, have you visited Dad recently? Before I was jailed, I paid a large sum to the hospital for his treatment. The money should have been finished two months ago. Did mom pay his outstanding fees?”

“She didn’t.” Fang Xinxin did not want him to stress over their father’s condition. “Brother, don’t worry. I’ve already paid the medical fees.”

“It must have been very expensive. Where did you find the money…” Fang Shaohua had a lot of concerns. Yet, he was trapped in jail and did not have the power to do anything.

“It’s fine. I have a lot of money.” Fang Xinxin winked at him mischievously in hopes of easing the heavy atmosphere. “I’m telling you this secretly. I won the lottery recently worth over thirteen million dollars.”

“Really!” He looked at her suspiciously. “Could it have been Bai Qinghao…”

“No, no.” She rushed to shake her head. “I was just really lucky and won the money by chance.”

“That’s good. Your brother is happy for you.” Fang Shaohua finally smiled a little.

“Brother, as you know, we still don’t know what’s wrong with the Fang family. A normal hospital isn’t safe right now. I have shifted Dad into Jia Ya Hospital. It’s the hospital managed by the Sheng Shi Group. Bai Qinghao has arranged two bodyguards to protect him.”

Fang Shaohua hesitated for a moment before nodding. “…that’s a good idea. Although we are troubling Bai Qinghao, it’s more important for Dad to be safe.”

“That’s right.” Fang Xinxin began nagging him. “Brother, you have to watch out for your health here. Remember to have your meals regularly and sleep on time. Don’t let anyone bully you…”

Fang Shaohua took in her worried expression. A hint of light appeared in his gloomy expression. “Xinxin…”

“En?”

“You believe in me, don’t you?” Fang Shaohua became agitated. “You believe that I’m innocent, don’t you? I didn’t do that sort of thing to that woman!”

In Fang Xinxin’s impression, her elder brother Fang Shaohua had always been cheerful and handsome. He was confident and optimistic but did not have much interest in dating women.

She had often asked him about the sort of wife that he was looking for.

Her brother always responded with a smile, telling her he had someone in mind but it was a one-sided crush. He had even told her that he would likely remain single for the rest of his life.

At that time, she had encouraged him to confess, but he told her that the person had a significant other and he could not interfere in her relationship.

She had carelessly asked once, if he ever visited a prostitute, the way other men tended to do. She could still recall his emotional outburst.

“Your brother is a good man with a clean body!” She remembered his words even now.

There was no way such a good man like him could…

The victim, Sun Fangfang, had sued her elder brother for rape and physical abuse. She had claimed he caused her body to be littered with injuries. She had even lost the ability to ever become pregnant.

As the victim had been one month away from being off age, she was considered a minor at the time and her brother was given a heavy sentence.

Her elder brother, Fang Shaohua, was found guilty and was jailed for twelve years.

In her previous life, after the incident, Fang Xinxin only saw her brother once, right after he was jailed.
