Rebirth of the Heavenly Empress Chapter 210 – She Could Not Disregard Yu Shijin’s Life And Death

Chapter 210: She Could Not Disregard Yu Shijin’s Life And Death

When Yu Shijin returned to the embassy, the chief detective was on a video-call with Yu Hongchang.

Crack!

The door was pushed open.

Chief detective stared in disbelief at Yu Shijin, who was the one who opened the door. Especially those reddish cheeks of his.

After a split second, he spoke up. “Boss, your grandfather is on video-call.”

“You guys go off first.” Yu Shijin dragged a chair over and sat in front of a laptop. His face was pristine as a piece of jade. “You are looking for me?”

He turned on the air-conditioning. The curtains were drawn together.

He propped his arm up against the back of his chair, his eyes looking as cold and profound as always.

It was as if no one could ever tell what he was thinking.

But even through the screen, one could see the faint smile playing upon the corners of his lips.

It was very faint, nearly imperceptible.

Yu Hongchang saw it, and he narrowed his eyes. He thought he would be looking at a grandson who would barely be able to stand up. “You look rather well.”

“If you have something to say, say it.” Yu Shijin didn’t wish to waste too much time.

“Dugu Heng gave me a piece of news just now. Song San managed to hire Mountain Cat.” Yu Hongchang sent a document over to Yu Shijin. “I hope that you can immediately return if possible. The Yu Family cannot protect you while you are in Country H.”

Yu Shijin accepted the document.

Light from the computer screen reflected on his face, lighting his features up clearly.

Yu Hongchang’s meaning was clear.

From the moment Yu Shijin went against Song San for that position, the two of them had become sworn enemies. It had never been possible for two mighty leaders to share the same space. It was obvious why Song San had hired Mountain Cat.

Yu Hongchang had never had to worry about Yu Shijin in the past, but he was now giving him a major headache.

“I know you have something to see to, but your life is more important.” Yu Hongchang lowered his voice as he tried to persuade Yu Shijin. “Return to the International Association first. Let’s talk about things then.”

Yu Shijin slowly read through the document, his eyes turning cold. “There’s no need to talk.”

“Please be sensible.” Yu Hongchang lowered his eyes.

“It’s not about sensibility.” Yu Shijin moved the mouse cursor over the button to close the program. “I have a reason to stay.”

As long as Su Huiqing was here.

He could never leave.

As well as the fact that Song San was investigating her.

Yu Shijin finished reading the document before deleting it. He then pushed open the door and went out.

Chief detective and team were waiting outside, leaning against the wall.

They immediately straightened up when they saw him emerge. Scrutinizing his face, they didn’t see any signs of frailty. Chief detective handed him a document. “Boss, where are you going?”

Yu Shijin was putting on his jacket. He replied calmly, “I am going to find the acting president.”

Country H’s commander-in-chief had been assassinated.

Now the acting president was in charge. He was somewhat anxious to see Yu Shijin. “Mr. Yu, you are looking for me?”

Even though he was the acting president of Country H, he still possessed an unexplainable fear toward International Association people.

Not to mention the fact that Song San had just been here to see him too.

“I just wish to understand how you affirmed that the assassin is the Queen of Mercenaries just based on that “S” carved at the side.” Yu Shijin looked at him with pitch-black eyes.

“It was the conclusion of the investigation by the investigative team sent over by the International Association.” The acting president gave a bitter laugh.

He also didn’t understand why such a small case was receiving such major attention.

Master San, the Yu Family.

Yu Shijin glanced at him with a chilly expression. Even the curve of his lips was somewhat vicious. “Everyone knows that the Queen of Mercenaries has been dead for over a year. How could she have come to Country H to kill your commander-in-chief?”

“This…” The acting president was clearly shocked.

He really didn’t know of that fact.

Actually, very few people did.

After all, only those few people at the International Association knew about Su S’s existence.

Yu Shijin crossed his arms behind his back and walked out. “After the commander-in-chief’s funeral tomorrow, I will personally investigate this matter.”

The acting president had no choice but to murmur his agreement.

—

The weather was very bad on the day of the commander-in-chief’s funeral. The sun was shining brightly yesterday, but strong winds and heavy rains dominated today.

Security at the president’s house was very tight.

Su Huiqing stood amongst the people, holding an umbrella.

The black umbrella covered half her face, revealing only that delicate, flawless chin.

Su Huiqing lowered her eyes as she put on her earpiece. “The three of you can start now.”

The trio immediately flipped over and entered the embassy, evading the surveillance cameras.

With the funeral happening today, the embassy would be nearly empty. Song San would definitely not be there.

Song San and his team had been at the embassy all these while. She believed there would be a lot of information there.

Su Huiqing wanted to find information on the person impersonating her.

She narrowed her eyes and brushed her hair back. Those eyes looking through the crowd were calm and crystal-clear.

A car appeared.

Yu Shijin’s tall, erect figure emerged from that car.

The Chief detective stood beside him with a black umbrella.

They were heading into the house.

Su Huiqing lifted her umbrella slightly, untold emotions flashing across her eyes.

If it was in the past, he would have definitely noticed her.

Su Huiqing looked away and headed in another direction.

There were many soldiers as there was a sizable number of mourners. Country H’s acting president had been worried that something might happen, and had mobilized nearly the entire military force.

The presidential house was very big, and Su Huiqing was heading toward a small door at the side.

It was not an important location and only two soldiers were stationed there.

“Hold it right there.” The two soldiers glared at Su Huiqing menacingly as they raised their guns.

Su Huiqing took one step back.

She adjusted her earpiece before suddenly closing her umbrella!

Swish!

The soldiers’ guns were knocked to the ground by her umbrella!

Water droplets splashed all over.

The two of them were stunned. Su Huiqing narrowed her eyes and threw her umbrella high into the air, freeing her hands to chop the two of them in the neck!

The two soldiers collapsed to the ground.

Su Huiqing calmly raised her hand again to catch the falling umbrella. Just before she was about to step into the presidential house, she paused and took a step back.

She took the jacket off one of the soldiers.

Picking up his navy-blue military cap, she put it on her own head.

Although they didn’t witness the scene, Yu Xiangyang and the gang could picture Su Huiqing’s smooth movements through the sounds from the earpiece. Yu Xiangyang commented. “Cool!”

Su Huiqing didn’t respond but just tugged at her cap. The earpiece was now hidden within her hair.

Although female soldiers were rare in the special forces, it was not entirely unheard of.

Su Huiqing lowered her eyes, which looked rather sharp and harsh.

If today’s incident was a trap, she believed that she would encounter more tricks and end up leaving behind quite some debris in the presidential house.

Her goal was clear. It was the heavily guarded bedroom in the presidential house.

That should be the place with the evidence which made them decide the killer was Su S. If not, it would hold the evidence that could point her toward those people from her previous life.

During this period, there were very few people in the backyard. Dressed in military attire and holding her umbrella, no one suspected Su Huiqing as she walked in. She always had exceptional observational skills.

Water pooled around her feet, reflecting her surroundings.

She could clearly detect the harsh flashes of light reflected by the water.

Another flash—but she could feel it wasn’t a sniper rifle.

It was…

Su Huiqing halted. Her eyes instantly dilated!

Because of Chi Qing, she had researched the top-ranked assassins.

Mountain Cat was ranked number two.

His weapon was a bow with a reflective surface.

The light reflected was more harsh than that of sniper rifles!

Mountain Cat.

Su Huiqing’s eyes darkened. Rumors were that Mountain Cat had already retired from the assassin circles, gradually transitioning into the business world.

Only Su Huiqing knew that was impossible.

This was because Mountain Cat was Song San’s man. Song San was such an ambitious person—how could he possibly allow such a powerful ally to transition into the business world?

Moreover, Mountain Cat was now in Country H.

With what she knew about Song San, he must have specially situated Mountain Cat at the presidential house to get rid of a certain someone…

Su Huiqing tightened her grip around her umbrella.

She instinctively thought of Yu Shijin.

In the International Association, only Yu Shijin was powerful enough to go against Song San now.

Su Huiqing lowered her eyes. The bedroom with the evidence was right in front of her. She glanced at the room with pursed lips before slowly raising her hand to press her earpiece. “Mission aborted.”

Following that, she took off her earpiece and lifted her eyes. She could not disregard Yu Shijin’s life and death.
