Rebirth of the Heavenly Empress Chapter 132 – Her Ruthlessness

Chapter 132: Her Ruthlessness

“Is he still a child? He can’t even look after his own things and needs you to clean up his mess for him. You can help him now, but can you help him forever?!” Yu Shijin’s eyes hardened. “He can’t even handle such a small matter, but needs you to step up. He has poor judgment and no leadership abilities. If not for you, he’s as good as a useless bum!”

He might or might not be referring only to Chi Qing.

Su Huiqing kept silent.

It was only right that she protected those around her as she had the ability to do so. This was her inborn responsibility.

One could not push away one’s responsibilities.

Under the onslaught of the rain, her face started to look blurry.

She no longer appeared calm and relaxed. Instead, her eyes exuded a chilly vibe.

She gave a slight smile.

But it was not her usual careless smile.

This was the responsibility that had been etched in her bones from a young age. Since the day she was born, her life already didn’t belong to her.

There were no complaints about the unfairness of it all. In that position, it was her duty to endure all the pain.

“Some people never got the chance to choose.” Su Huiqing’s face was placid, her tone of voice calm

She then turned and walked away.

At this moment, she didn’t wish to explain to Yu Shijin. She hadn’t come here for Chi Qing anyway.

Unknown Island was her duty.

As long as she was alive, she would never forget those people on the island who were still waiting for her return.

She would protect the inhabitants of that island with her life.

Yu Shijin stared after her departing profile.

In the past, she always appeared so fresh and vibrant in his eyes. But today, that figure looked somewhat worn and weary.

Silently enduring the intense agony when one’s heart ached madly for another—it also gave one an extreme sense of helplessness.

This might be the most frustrating realization in life.

Yu Shijin pursed his lips. Those dark eyes of his were like two deep, black whirlpools.

His usual elegance was shattered by that malevolent air.

The figure was nearly vanishing from his line of sight.

Chief detective and the gang could only stare silently at Yu Shijin.

They knew that something bad must have happened between the two of them today.

Master Yu didn’t even accept the commander-in-chief’s video-call that night.

Even a callous killer like him was affected. It could be seen what a major impact that incident in the afternoon had on him.

In his memory, Master Yu never cared that much for anyone, not even for his own family.

“Master Yu, these people appeared out of the blue.” Chief detective couldn’t resist speaking up. “Ms Su probably didn’t know this matter had something to do with Assassin God. So she came here not because of him…”

Yu Shijin suddenly lifted his head.

He fixed his dark eyes upon the chief detective.

After half a second, he dashed into the rain.

Behind him, the chief detective wanted to pass him an umbrella, but he completely ignored that.

By the time he left the front gates, there was no one out there at all.

All traces of her had gone. It was like she was never here.

She always had that ability.

No one could find her if she didn’t wish to be found.

In a daze, Yu Shijin stood affixed to the spot for a long time. Even when the chief detective and gang caught up with him and shielded him with an umbrella, he remained unresponsive.

“Master Yu, let’s go back in to bandage your wound first.” Vice chief detective noticed the blood trailing down his forearm.

“Call Chu Xuning.” Yu Shijin ordered calmly instead of replying to him.

Someone immediately took out his cell phone and called Chu Xuning.

Chu Xuning already received news of the attack. The moment he got the call, he said, “Master Yu, I will arrange for alternative accommodation for you.”

Yu Shijin placed the cell phone by his ear and said in a low voice, “No need. Check if the Su Family has any properties nearby.”

—

The next day.

Su Huiqing woke up early in the morning.

The movie “The Victor” was only lacking the female lead. Filming started immediately now that she had been confirmed for the role.

Director Lu also accommodated the fact that she was a student.

On the film set…

Several big-name celebrities and small-time actors milled about. Su Huiqing scouted out her surroundings as usual.

The Su Family hired an assistant for her, called Lu Yun. She was a very introverted female assistant and spoke very little. However, she was very capable.

The entire film set was full of well-known stars and veteran actors. Only Su Huiqing was a complete newbie.

All newbies would have to endure being bullied by their seniors.

Especially if those seniors didn’t know where this newbie came from.

Having been drenched by the rain last night, Su Huiqing felt her throat was rather sore. She had Lu Yun go get her a cup of hot water.

Lu Yun was out for a long time, before returning empty-handed and with red-rimmed eyes.

“What happened?” Su Huiqing asked.

The makeup artist was still working on her face and rebuked her. “Ms Su, can you please stop moving? Don’t blame me if Director Lu scolds you for not having your makeup done properly!”

Su Huiqing ignored her. She noticed Lu Yun trying to hide her swollen hands and jumped up.

Startled, the makeup artist reprimanded with a stern face. “Do you want me to do your makeup or not!”

Su Huiqing continued to ignore her but just looked coldly at Lu Yun. “Who did this?”

Frightened, Lu Yun shook her head.

With her low status, she was already used to such matters.

“I asked you who did this?” Su Huiqing calmly repeated the question.

No one could oppose Su Huiqing when she spoke like this.

Lu Yun stammered a reply.

Su Huiqing nodded and pushed back her chair before heading toward the logistics department.

The people there were discussing something, and on seeing Su Huiqing approach, they didn’t quieten down but instead spoke up even more loudly, as if they purposely wanted her to hear their words.

“I wonder how many people she seduced to get this… and she’s still so young…”

“She puts on so many airs. Even the director has to wait for her. I wonder who is backing her.”

“You guys better lower your voices. Otherwise, she might make life difficult for you.”

“Pfft, she’s already so shameless, how can she be afraid of what others say?!”

Su Huiqing didn’t speak up but just asked Lu Yun a question, before taking up a cup of piping hot water.

She poured the water onto the man who had been chattering non-stop!

Time froze.

Everyone just stood there staring at the girl, whose hair was still in the middle of being styled. With one hand in her pocket and the other holding a cup, she stood there with a cold and ruthless smile on her lips!
