After Ning Fei had added the tofu, he placed the carrots in, 10 minutes before he removed the wok from the fire.

The freshly boiled fish soup was ready to be served. Ning Fei used a ladle and scooped the fish and soup into a bowl.

Steam was rising from the whitish fish soup that was filled to the brim with ingredients. The deep-bodied herring looked extra delicious nestled amongst the abundant ingredients.

‘Why did I click on this livestream? I’m getting hungry!’

‘I really want to eat that…’

‘Webcaster, can you send me the remaining fish bones later?’

‘Webcaster, you have excellent skills. Bravo!’

‘A man who can cook is truly charming!’

In the webcast room, the viewers all gasped and lavished praise on him.

Ning Fei was pleased with his dish and quickly stole a glance at the screen. He realized that many comments had highlighted his skills with the knife.

As for the reason behind his skills, it was because he had obtained the ultimate skill of slicing!

He soon discovered that with this skill, everything went smoothly during the cooking process. And in his mind, he naturally processed the steps of how he should cook a dish.

“Since everyone is interested in my cutting skills, I shall perform it again.” Ning Fei flashed a toothy smile at the screen.

His words caused another excited commotion amongst the viewers.

Ning Fei was starving, so he took out the pot of rice he had cooked. Next, he took out the preserved vegetables in an earthenware jug. And so, he began to feast on his fish and the preserved vegetables with a bowl of steaming rice.

The deep-bodied herring was huge, so it contributed to the huge serving of the soup. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to finish it all by himself, so he had scooped half of the soup into a thermal container before he began to eat.

A wild deep-bodied herring could fetch a high price, and even the soup in the thermal container would run up to a few thousand yuans if he were to sell it.

After Ning Fei finished dinner, it was nearly eight.

He picked up the thermal container and walked out.

The viewers had no idea what he wanted to do, so they were curious.

Ning Fei said, “Hello viewers, sorry, but the livestream will end now. Tomorrow, I shall start at 9:00 a.m. as usual, and I hope you will continue to support me. I will make it up to all of you by performing my cutting skill tomorrow. I have some urgent last-minute matters to settle. Sorry!”

Ning Fei’s words left everyone taken aback as they hadn’t had enough.

‘Host, please perform before you go!’

‘Webcaster, just a while more! It’s hard to finally find a good webcaster.’

‘Yeah! Just a while longer please!’

‘Host, press on!’

Despite the viewers’ pleas, Ning Fei ended the livestream.

The delicious soup had left him in high spirits, and a warm current seemed to be swimming inside him. Being filled with food was the best feeling in a day.

He trudged down the mountain path while the sky was still rather bright. Here, the nights in summer arrived rather late, and the sky would only turn dark after 8:00 p.m.

Ning Fei wanted to visit someone who lived nearby.

“Grandma Wang, I’m here!” Before Ning Fei entered the courtyard, he yelled warmly with a beaming smile.

At the sound of his voice, a black and white tiny dog came dashing out instantly. It wagged its tail happily and vigorously as though it had just seen its owner.

Ning Fei had deliberately saved a packet of the special pet food for this dog named Snowy. He smiled at the dog before throwing the food into the air.

Snowy was quick on its feet and jumped immediately to catch the food. Snowy barked excitedly several times after it finished the food.

Ning Fei recalled the introduction about the pet food, ‘The wonderful taste has won the unanimous approval of all animals!’ Snowy must have been barking its approval.

He strolled into the house, and a benevolent-looking old lady was inside. At the sight of Ning Fei, a kind smile lit up her face.

Ning Fei wasn’t a saint. There were many lonely old people living in the mountains, and he didn’t care for everyone.

But Grandma Wang was different. To put it simply, when Ning Fei was a kid, he was often punished by his master. He would flee and seek refuge at Grandma Wang’s house. He spent at least a third of his childhood eating at her place.

When Grandma Wang was younger, she was hardworking and nimble. She was quite well-to-do, but she had no children. She had always treated Ning Fei as her grandson.

Now that Grandma Wang was old, and she couldn’t work anymore due to her failing eyesight. Ning Fei had taken her to a hospital to have a check-up, but the doctor had told him that it was too late to remove Grandma Wang’s cataracts.

And that was why Ning Fei had taken care of her.

“Grandma Wang, this is the fish soup I made today. Drink it while it’s still hot.” Ning Fei brought out some utensils and a bowl before he poured the soup. He then placed it in front of her.

Grandma smiled warmly at him. She could only see Ning Fei’s figure.

After he put the bowl down, he began to clean Grandma Wang’s courtyard.

Next, he told her about what had happened today during his livestream. Naturally, he skipped the part about the System.

He wasn’t sure if she understood what livestreaming, rewards, and viewers were about, but the old lady kept smiling, and he was happy to see that.

“The White Dragon Fish I caught was huge, and its scales were shiny. It looked glorious. When I held it, the fish was looking at me, and I felt that it was begging me with its eyes.” Ning Fei sounded excited as he spoke, and Grandma Wang became nervous unconsciously.

“Master said that these animals were spiritual, so we have to respect them. So I set the White Dragon Fish free,” Ning Fei grinned as he spoke, and Grandma Wang smiled as she listened.

He spent more than two hours at Grandma Wang’s place, and after everything was tidy, he went back to the temple.

He had solemnly sworn to find a method to cure Grandma Wang’s eyes.

In the past, he could only rely on hospitals and doctors. Now, with the System’s help, there would be infinite possibilities. Therefore, he needed to gather more popularity points so that he could obtain more skills.

When he went back to his room, the first thing he did was to check the webcast and see what he had earned.

He estimated that he had earned about 20,000 yuan. Of course, that was because of the panda’s appearance and that Manager Wang who had given him 10 rockets in a bid to coax him to sell the White Dragon Fish.

It wasn’t easy to earn money through a webcast, but on the other hand, it could be easy and quick as long as the content was something that the viewers were interested in.

For example, the appearance of the panda, catching a precious fish, and the dog fight.

So, earning 20,000 yuan a day wasn’t strange.

At this time, Ning Fei discovered that he had several messages, but before he could click on any, a call came.

“Hi, are you Mr. Ning Fei?” a middle-aged man’s deep voice spoke.

“Yes, that’s me. What is this regarding?”

“I’m calling from Panda Webcast Platform. We feel that you have massive potential after watching your livestream. So we would like to invite you to our company to host a livestream show,” spoke the man politely and earnestly.

So he’s here to poach me, thought Ning Fei quietly.

This would naturally happen. After all, Ning Fei had won so many popularity points on his first day of his livestream, and many people had begun to notice him.

As for the choice of the webcast platform, Ning Fei had no preference. After all, they were the same to him. He knew that many of the platforms had profited mainly from the compensation the webcasters had to pay after violating a contract.

Thus, Ning Fei had a simple conclusion. He would sign with the one who could offer him the best contract.

As the man spoke, he had read the messages, and all of the parties had left him their contact number. They were all hoping that he would sign with the company that they represented. The same went for Battling Birds Webcast Platform.

Ning Fei asked, “Can I ask you a question? What would be the difference if I signed with Panda Webcast Platform instead of the other companies?”

He too wanted to land a contract quickly.

With no contract, he could only get 40 percent of his earnings or rewards.

The terms would be different with a contract.

“Grade B! This is the best our company can offer! Every newbie starts from Grade D, and Grade B is really the best for you. Won’t you consider it?” the Panda Webcast Platform representative implored.

Ning Fei frowned.

A Grade B contract entailed that he would have a yearly income of 300,000 yuan. He would get 60 percent of the rewards given, while the platform would take 40 percent. But he would have to sign for five years.

Five years was too long for him. This contract wasn’t good or enticing enough.

“All right, I got it. I will consider your offer.” Ning Fei ended the call.
