Xu Canchan sighed. Of the apprentice-level beasts, his Gigantic Buddha of Metal and Stone was already the biggest fish in the pond. He refused to believe that Ye Xuan would be able to break the record set by the King of Thousand Cranes with a single beast.

“How about this, Xu Canchan? You’ve always been competitive anyway, so what do you think about exchanging blows with Ye Xuan after he comes out of that tower? We’ll get a good look at his skills,” Song Jia responded with a charming smile after she heard what he said.

“I have no plans of accepting that abuse.”

Xu Canchan only smirked scornfully.

Beast Tamers who could bond with two beasts despite still being at the apprentice level—there was practically nobody who was a match for them, not at the lower levels.

Xu Canchan was very aware of this.

He knew that if Ye Xuan had really broken the record set by the King of Thousand Cranes in the Spirit Pagoda, then he would only be flung around in a match against the other.

“Coward.”

Song Jia lost interest immediately when she heard what he said.

“I live for peace.”

Xu Canchan made no movement. “Seek him out yourself if you’re really that interested in him.”

Song Jia was struck speechless.

And just then, as the crowd was wrapped up in discussion, a handsome figure standing at 1.8m suddenly strode out of the Spirit Pagoda.

“Ye Xuan!”

Everyone turned to look at him when they saw his figure.

“I was fortunate enough to have completed your mission, Miss Lin,” he said to Lin Shiru as he strode boldly to her.

He spoke in a voice that was neither loud nor quiet, but it carried a force unique to him.

Out here, he represented Jiangzhou University. The more people looked at him, the more he had to behave well. This was what Lin Shiru had said to him earlier. He had kept it in mind the entire time.

Lin Shiru nodded.

She then turned to look at Xu Younian and said, “Director Xu, since Ye Xuan is here, I’ll be bringing him along to find a place to train. We won’t impose on you any longer.”

Xu Younian nodded. “I have to remind you, Vice Dean Lin, of the agreement that Beast Tamers at Platinum level and above are not allowed to spar in the Spirit Secret Realm.”

She brought down branch after branch that wrapped around both her and Ye Xuan, hurtling through space until they reached a discreet, hidden spot in the Spirit Secret Realm.”

It was a large mountain.

Looking down from the very apex of the mountain, one would see an expanse of green.

“Can you tell me what you encountered in the Spirit Pagoda just now?” Lin Shiru looked at Ye Xuan and asked him when they touched the ground.

“Of course.”
