The girl was collapsed on the table with her back facing the door and her body shaking uncontrollably.

Qin Yinan’s heart twitched with extreme pain, causing his footsteps to slow down. He stared at the crying Song Qingchun for a long while before resuming his steps to walk toward her. When he got closer, he could hear that Song Qingchun’s voice had gotten hoarse from all the crying.

He did not disturb her but stood quietly by her side and allowed her to cry her heart out.

Qin Yinan waited until her crying got softer and her emotions were not so intense before he reached out to grab the underside of her arm to pull her up from the table and turn her around to face him.

Song Qingchun felt someone’s touch on her, and she subconsciously raised her watery eyes to look at the person. When she saw it was Qin Yinan, she quickly lowered her face, and her tears started to fall again.

Qin Yinan pulled the napkin from the table silently and carefully helped Song Qingchun dry the tears on her face. He went through the whole box of napkins before Song Qingchun finally stopped crying.

Then, Qin Yinan asked in his gentle way, “Shall we go now?”

Song Qingchun looked at Qin Yinan with her reddened eyes and nodded lightly.

Qin Yinan didn’t say anything else as he bent down to grab Song Qingchun’s purse from the floor and her phone from the table before he reached out to hold her shoulders and lead her out of the restaurant.

Along the way, Song Qingchun’s eyes did redden several times, and she sniffled from the snot that clogged up her nostrils.

Qin Yinan pulled open the passenger side door and supported Song Qingchun as she got in. After helping her with the seatbelt, he walked to the trunk to grab a bottle of mineral water. He twisted the cap open as he got into the driver seat.

Qin Yinan passed the bottle to Song Qingchun. “Here, you’ll feel better.”

“Thank you.” Song Qingchun sniffed once more.

Qin Yinan waited until Song Qingchun took a sip and twisted the cap closed before he asked, “Are you sure you can return home in this state?”

Song Qingchun didn’t answer but turned to look at the rear-view mirror.

The girl that stared back her had her hair in a mess, and her eyes were swollen like walnuts. If Song Menghwa saw her in such a state, he would be worried beyond belief.

Even though Song Qingchun didn’t voice her thought, Qin Yinan could see her hesitation, so he offered, “Do you want to crash at my place then?”

Song Qingchun was silent for a long time before nodding. Qin Yinan then started the engine wordlessly.

On the way home, when they passed a 7-11, Qin Yinan stopped. He had her wait in the car and got out alone. When he got out of the store, there was an extra plastic bag in his hand.

He pulled the backdoor open and dropped the bag in before walking to the driver side and driving off.

Qin Yinan lived in an apartment studio with only one bedroom. After he brought Song Qingchun in, he went into the bathroom. After twenty minutes, he came out and passed the plastic bag he had gotten at the convenience store to Song Qingchun, adding, “Why don’t you go take a warm bath first?”

After Song Qingchun came out of the bathroom, Qin Yinan was no longer in the bedroom. The sheets of the bed that he slept in had been changed into a new set.

Just as she stood there confused, the bedroom door was pushed open, and Qin Yinan walked in with a glass of milk in his hand.
