The launching of Li Corporation’s newest product was successful after the company had managed to settle the plagiarism issue. Li Xiuying’s takeover of the company’s management not only brought a significant rise in sales, but also resulted in a rebound in the stock prices. The company has now recovered to its state prior to the issue of the plagiarized product.

The celebration was in time with the company’s anniversary so the PR department was busy sending out invitations to prominent people within the business and social circle. They also collaborated with the media with the intention of making it a big event within the capital.

As the company’s condition drastically improved, Li Xiuying’s workload was lessened. Since tonight was the celebration party of the company, Song Zexi was busy finding dresses for Li Xiuying to choose and wear later.

Meanwhile, Su Ling excused himself to stay outside as he made secret phone calls to investigate Lin Meirong as per Li Chuntao’s order.

While they were busy, Li Xiuying remained in her office, reviewing the reports she received that morning. There was a bunch of work to be done before she could leave the country to follow Chuntao overseas.

Li Xiuying was reviewing the marketing plan for the next six months while the clock on her table indicated that it was already past the working hours and she could actually leave if she wanted to.

At this time, Song Zexi came back to her office with a huge box in her hands. She put the box directly on Li Xiuying’s table and said, “Miss, I returned the dresses you didn’t like. What about this one? I think this dress suits you well,” she beamed a smile to her miss.

Li Xiuying sighed and pushed her seat away from her computer. She reluctantly stood from her seat and removed the lid of the box.

“Is this the dress you picked?” She asked Song Zexi.

Her bodyguard shook her head.

“No, no, this is Madam’s choice. She called me to pick this up from the Li Mansion.”

“My Aunt Yue?” Li Xiuying was surprised by her aunt’s initiative. How did she know she was having a hard time to choose a dress for tonight’s occasion?

At that thought, she took the dress inside the box and unfolded it. It was actually a modern cheongsam dress. It was a long white piece with blue floral patterns from its left shoulder down to its chest, then another floral design printed on its skirt.

“It’s beautiful…” she murmured to Song Zexi.

“I knew you would like it,” Song Zexi laughed beside her. “I thought you’re getting tired of the western dresses, so I asked Madam Li for an opinion. She said that this style is very popular these days and the color suits you.”

“Thank you, Song Zexi. I know you and Su Ling have been working hard lately because of me. I’ve been troubling you. I really appreciate your help.”

Song Zexi gasped and covered her mouth in shock. She knew that her miss was kind but this was the first time she thanked her like this.

“No, no, Miss Ying, please don’t say that! It’s me who wanted to help you. As long as you are happy and safe that’s enough for me.”

Li Xiuying chuckled, amused at her bodyguard’s flushed face. Song Zexi was two years older than her but she acted like a younger sister sometimes.

“Miss Ying, why don’t you try it on and see if it fits? If it doesn’t, I can bring it to someone for a quick fix.” But as soon as she said it, Song Zexi’s stomach growled in hunger. She had skipped her meal to find this dress for Li Xiuying.

Li Xiuying raised a brow and shook her head, clearly understanding the situation.

“Why don’t you go to the cafeteria and eat first? I’ll try the dress on while you’re eating. Come back later when you are done.”

“Then I’ll go now, Miss Ying,” Song Zexi scratched her head and turned around and walked towards the door. “I’ll come back as soon as I can,”

“There’s no need to rush, Xi’er!” Ying said playfully before she walked out of the office.

Li Xiuying looked at the dress in her hands then to the pile of papers waiting for her to read, but she knew it was hard to get her focus back to her work when Song Zexi and her Aunt Yue brought her a nice gift.

Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to continue her work at this rate, she swiftly removed her blouse and skirt and slipped her high heels off her feet. Within the walls of her office, she had enough privacy to do whatever she wanted.

With Su Ling posted outside, she would know at once if she had a visitor coming to meet her.

She was impressed by the quality of the cheongsam. It felt comfortable on her skin and flowed well on her body, although she noticed that it was quite fit around her chest and hips. It made her chest appear distinct as she checked her reflection in the mirror.

Had she gained weight? Li Xiuying wasn’t sure herself. Ever since she talked to Chuntao, she resumed her daily life and had been eating as usual.
