[Rey Flames Lin: Who saw me?]

[Lares: As astute as ever. It’s Black Rose.]

Reylin’s eyes narrowed.

He wasn’t as close to them, but the guild competition should’ve exposed Reylin’s relationship with Brand and his guild.

It seemed like something bigger happened in the capital and their royal circle.

Reylin wanted to message Alex Loyalty, but he decided not to, and continued talking with Lares.

[Rey Flames Lin: So? Explain yourself.]

Lares didn’t type anything back as if building up some tension.

Of course, Reylin’s question promptly made him type on the system keyboard. The archer explained a little, however.

[Lares: It’s not a topic to talk about through the system. I would instead meet you today.]

[Rey Flames Lin: And why do you make it sound as if someone can read our messages? Except for game creators, who else can take a peek into the system without our permission?]

[Lares: Nerven can read.]

[Rey Flames Lin: Huh? Nerven?]

[Lares: That’s the race behind Dark Matter.]

That was a message Reylin hadn’t expected at all.

He was taken aback by it, and he didn’t reply as immediately as he usually did. His eyes went between the system and his two girlfriends happily singing in the kitchen, then Reylin replied.

[Rey Flames Lin: Well then. I will see you soon.]

[Lares: Nice. I have-]

Lares explained a little of his business in the Exodium City, then Reylin ended the conversation. He stood up and went to his girlfriends, then helped them make breakfast.

He then relished the game’s food and his ladies’ presence.

At last, Reylin left the house and went to meet Lares.

He also called Sebastian and Alex Loyalty.

Lares had taken over someone’s carriage business.

He owned many carriages in the capital and beyond! His business extended to neighboring kingdoms, and it was quite a well-received company.

After all, Lares didn’t just feed horses and pay his people to take people around the world.

He also offered protection.

His father’s Heroes also worked in Lares’ company. For them, it was like taking shifts in a part-time job, as both father and son were well known.

The goals had aligned after the mini-bosses appeared, which helped with organization and income!

Reylin took the carriage Lares had prepared for him beforehand.

In that carriage, Reylin sat down like a boss and ordered the resident he had never seen before, “Follow my directions.”

That resident’s face contorted in displeasure.

Although he had received orders from his boss, he didn’t know what kind of person had entered his carriage. He was also displeased by the lack of bodyguards, and he was about to question Reylin!

But as he turned his head and faced him, the resident’s eyes expanded in fear, and he floundered, “Good sir! I will follow your directions as if my life was on the line!”

That black nickname was one thing, but Reylin was also a common topic for players. That resident had driven many newbies around the capital and provinces, so he heard about Rey Flames Lin numerous times.

He shook the reins, and his horses howled.

It was time for a short adventure!

An adventure that didn’t really need bodyguards!

“I started saving money for a car,” Sebastian said.

On his right, Alex Loyalty nodded with a faint smile, “Mr. Reylin’s car is quite luxurious. Wasn’t it a present from his father? You must have taken a lot of liking to it and now want someone of the same quality.”

Sebastian sighed, “Yes, that’s true! That’s so true! I have a lot of free time now, so I tested a few cars my budget allows me to buy, but no one left me satisfied! No one!”

He rubbed his eyes with his sleeves!

Alex patted his friend’s back, then his eyes shone.

It seemed like Reylin was close!

Sebastian also noticed him, so he straightened his back and waited for the young master to appear before him.

Reylin opened the doors, “Come in.”

“Yes!” Both of them answered like soldiers.

In the carriage, Reylin glared at his butler, “I got called by Lares… He teased me with the name of the race behind dark matter… What about you?”

Sebastian and Alex flinched.

Of course, Lares and his father worked solely around Exodium City.

It was as if they were competing with Alex and Sebastian, so that news shocked them to the core.

However, Alex had good news.

He became the noble, “It’s that I have to receive the blue blood yet… This will take a while, so I haven’t mentioned it until now… I originally planned to notify you a few days before it.”

Alex then turned his eyes to Sebastian and nudged him.

Sebastian nodded, “There’s a recent rumor about the king… It happened recently, and no one can confirm it… However, the king has died! They say that he was killed by the princess.”

Of course, Sebastian hadn’t talked about it with Reylin because of his free time. He spent a lot of his free time buying a new car, “I haven’t told you about it because it’s not confirmed.”

He lied.

Reylin clicked his tongue, “Your poker face is so trash.”

“…” Sebastian’s face started to perspire profusely.

It wasn’t like his poker face was actually bad, but it was impossible to keep one before the crown!

He looked down and didn’t utter a word.

Reylin said, “We wanted to play around with the princess, but she made a move first… Well, her home, so she has more room to play around. We can only wait for her moves.”

The princess was known to hate players, so it wasn’t that surprising.

What Reylin didn’t know was that the princess was looking out for him! Although she didn’t know his name and status yet, Reylin was indeed a person the princess wanted to have a talk with.

“Let’s see what Lares has planned,” Reylin smirked, then rested his head on his hand as he looked at the scenery.

Minibosses appeared from time to time, but he cleaned them with just his fireballs!

Lares and Brand had been waiting for Reylin in a province called Teaz. 

It was a province far to the east, governed by a noble family with which Brand was in close ties.

His heroes protected this province the most and its people.

However, they had naturally stumbled upon a few problems.

They were about to explain those problems.

Brand narrowed his eyes at Reylin, “The fourth… Your recent rise in fame must’ve hurt you.”

“Not really,” Reylin smiled widely at him.

Lares immediately butted in, seeing how his father teased Reylin from the start, “Thanks for coming, Reylin. We really need a powerful force to help us with our current predicament.”

“Well. It’s not really set in stone that I would help you. I guess you want to use your knowledge about dark matter’s race to get my help.

The problem is that I can’t verify your words.” Reylin crossed his arms.

He then noticed a familiar person in the background.

She was one of the twins he had met at the beginning of his journey! He wouldn’t have noticed her without his Black Rose’s class.

She also noticed his eyes and revealed her face.

Reylin hovered his eyes on her for a little, then shifted his eyes to Laras, which hurt the twin! She would’ve snarled at Reylin were it not for Lares and Brand!

Lares smiled, “I can share a little of our secrets, I guess.”

He fished out a broken mirror from his inventory. It used to be one of the treasures from the dungeon with beautiful luster and design. However, the broken parts made the whole mirror look much worse, and its quality had diminished.

Lares explained, “This mirror lets me use my enemies’ skills against them… As I told you before, there’s an existence that can read our system. That man can read our messages, listen to our conservation and see our skills as well… He implants this knowledge to minibosses, which makes them harder to fight against.”

“You learned about that man when he tried to read you?” Reylin inferred.

Lares nodded, “That’s right… I learned about their race and the dark matter… I can send you mirror information to testify to my words.”

The giant crack on the mirror was due to that man’s power! It seemed like the mirror had a few uses at most, and it soon would shatter.

Reylin smiled, “A man that can read our system… That’s a big no for me. Unfortunately, though your information is juicy, I have to take a step back. However, you were so nice to me, unlike your father, I will reach out to you after the dark matter kingdom event ends.”

Reylin turned around and left the scene, not even waiting for a response.

All the people around were quite shocked to see his reaction!

Sebastian and Alex didn’t lag behind, and they followed their young master like well-schooled servants.

Brand squinted his eyes, “What kind of abilities does he hide? How far has he gone?”

His son chuckled, “It might be a card to win the dark matter kingdom event… Since we can’t do anything here, we might as well look at some streams… Mother enjoys those streams and battles… She has brought too much popcorn to my house.”

Brand glanced at Lares, then sighed, “I guess we can watch it together.” His expression softened, and he followed his son back to Earth.

His Heroes returned to work then.

Although they couldn’t face the existence that had been bothering them all this time, they could limit his moves and constantly fight against the strengthened minibosses.

That was what they were paid for, and it was a pretty dream job.

Alas, too clever minibosses soon changed their opinion about their job!
