Hence, you should take down notes throughout his lectures. Look at how meticulous his notes are!”

She returned the notebook to that male student before turning to that female student again. “I think I’ve said this before—don’t disturb those who genuinely want to learn. The reason why I said this is because I saw many people leaning against the window just to listen to Professor Jiang’s lecture. Some were also leaning against the wall at the back to listen. However, several people took up the seats in the classroom, yet they weren’t listening attentively. Furthermore, Professor Jiang only has half an hour to answer your questions after class, but there are those amongst you who aren’t even from the Physics department, but you still came to ask questions. All that you guys want is to look at him up close. You guys are shamelessly wasting everyone’s precious time and space. You guys don’t have any consideration for those students who genuinely have questions to ask. Professor Jiang doesn’t even come every day; he only has one lecture per week!”

When she finished speaking, the whole class became quiet for a while. A student who was squeezed to the far end then shouted, “That’s right! Even though I always come half an hour early, I’ve never been able to get a seat. That’s because all the girls from other departments who want to see Professor Jiang are taking up space. Additionally, all of you even run over to ask questions after class. With the kind of rubbish that you guys are asking, only someone as innocent as Professor Jiang wouldn’t be suspicious!”

“Exactly! Professor Jiang only gives four lectures a month. I’ve attended ten lectures, and I still haven’t been able to squeeze to the front to ask him questions.”

The girls did not know what to say.

Voices of assent rose, and many students who had squeezed to the front left guiltily.
