This is a reference to the technique used by Lu Xiaofeng (陆小凤) in the Wuxia novel series called Lu Xiaofeng Series (陆小凤系列). The technique is exactly the same as Ye Lingchen executed: clipping weapons using two fingers, usually the index and middle finger.
