With that, his eyes turned serious and he raised his hands. Suddenly, a pitch-black gun barrel was aimed right at Ye Lingchen’s chest. With a vicious voice, he said, “I don’t care who you are, you won’t be stronger than a bullet!”

‘A gun?’

Xu Wanqing’s eyes that saw hope suddenly dimmed. She could not help but cover her mouth as tears flooded her eyes as she looked at Ye Lingchen with a worried expression.

“I hate it when someone points a gun at me,” Ye Lingchen said as though the gun was of no threat to him.

At that time, there was not much that could hurt him in this world. Guns, unfortunately, were one of them. Therefore, he would be especially pissed when someone points a gun at him.

“Hahaha, you hate it? So what?” The skinny man laughed out loud. “Kneel in front of me right now, and kowtow three times respectfully. With that, I can consider letting you live! No matter if you’re the real superman or not, once you offend Earth’s Gate, you will regret it for sure!”

He looked at Ye Lingchen condescendingly with eyes full of mockery.

He wanted the so-called Chinese superhero to kneel in front of him. Only then would he feel accomplished.

“Kneel?” Ye Lingchen’s voice remained calm. He stretched out his hands and curled his index finger at the skinny man, beckoning him, “Come, fire at me!”

The skinny man was stunned, thinking that he must have misheard and asked, “What?!”

The others around him felt their hearts racing, staring at Ye Lingchen in disbelief. ‘What’s the meaning of this?’

“You want to die?” the skinny man asked coldly through gritted teeth.

Ye Lingchen did not reply but continued to provoke him by beckoning with his finger at the skinny man.

After that, he even walked leisurely towards the skinny man.

“Don’t force me!” The skinny man’s expression turned into one of panic as he watched Ye Lingchen approaching him, holding onto his gun tightly.

Wu Junjie remained kneeling on the floor. He watched Ye Lingchen with his eyes wide open, filled with terror.

As for Xu Wanqing, she looked at Ye Lingchen with mixed feelings. She was shaking nervously and balled her fists tightly. She bit her lips shut, forcefully stopping herself from making any sounds.

At that moment, to her eyes, Superman Y seemed to be a glowing figure.

“Have you seen Fight Back to School[1]?” Ye Lingchen’s voice was calm, as though they were casually chatting.

“What?” The skinny man looked confused.

“You haven’t seen it? Then I’ll show it to you!”

“You dare make fun of me? If you want to die, so be it!”

Bang!

“Ah!”

However, the moment the shot was fired, Ye Lingchen’s body leaped into the air and made a backflip. His hands seemed to grab at something in thin air, as though he had caught something. After that, he landed steadily with both his feet on the ground!

“Nani!?”

Silence took over!

Everyone looked at Ye Lingchen with bewilderment in their eyes!

“Superman! It’s Superman from DC![2]” Wu Junjie screamed in terror, feeling lost and almost going crazy.

The skinny man stared at Ye Lingchen. However, Ye Lingchen had surreptitiously walked a few more steps forward, then slowly opened his palm!

Everyone focused their attention on him.

Yet, they saw nothing!

The skinny man felt something was amiss. Just as he was about to continue firing, Ye Lingchen had already turned into a blur and closed in on him. He raised both his legs and kicked sideways, immediately kicking the gun in his hands away.

After that, he continued his motion and slammed the back of the skinny man duo’s [3] neck, eliminating any future complications.

Bang bang bang!

In an instant, both of them passed out. Only Wu Junjie was left, having peed his pants in fear. He looked at Ye Lingchen as though he had just seen a ghost, stunned and at a loss for words.

“I’ve already called the police. We’ll let the law take care of these people,” said Ye Lingchen softly as he looked at Xu Wanqing.

With that, he turned around to leave.

Xu Wanqing seemed to have recovered from her daze, then shouted at Ye Lingchen’s leaving figure, “Please wait.”

Ye Lingchen stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at her.

“C-c-can you accompany me for a while? I’m all alone and scared…” Xu Wanqing bit her lips as she looked at Ye Lingchen.

Ye Lingchen did not reply, but simply nodded and stood there on the spot.

The current Xu Wanqing was a little different from her normal self. Gone was the usual calm and peaceful demeanor. Instead, she would occasionally peek at Ye Lingchen at the corner of her eyes, as though a little deer was running wild in her heart.[4] 

“Uhm…you’re not that old right?” Xu Wanqing could not help but ask timidly.

Ye Lingchen looked at Xu Wanqing awkwardly. ‘This girl…since when did she turn so gossipy?’

To avoid any complications, he chose to stay silent.

Seeing that Ye Lingchen chose to ignore her, Xu Wanqing’s eyes dimmed. After a moment of silence, she asked again, “Earlier…where did that bullet go? You’re not hurt right?”

“I’m fine.” Ye Lingchen gave a simple reply.

However, when Xu Wanqing looked at Ye Lingchen’s shoulder, her eyes narrowed and exclaimed, “You’re injured!”

She could finally see that Ye Lingchen’s shirt was stained red around his shoulder region.

“I’ll call an ambulance for you right now.” Xu Wanqing’s blabbered in confusion as tears flowed down her cheeks and leaned in towards Ye Lingchen.

The next instant, police sirens could be heard and several police vehicles appeared within their line of sight, rushing straight at them.

“It’s just a small injury, nothing serious. The police are here and I have to get going! Oh, please have the police return that bike to the owner for me.” Ye Lingchen backed off slightly, then dashed, he made his way out of the amusement park.

Looking at Ye Lingchen’s disappearing figure, Xu Wanqing could not help but stomp her foot.

The police vehicles pulled over and a cool, rugged female officer came down with a few other police officers, rushing to the scene.

When they saw Xu Wanqing, Xu Nan’s eyes popped wide open, exclaiming, “Sis, it’s you? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. These people kidnapped me,” Xu Wanqing explained to Xu Nan with some lingering fear in her voice. “It should be from the competitors trying to do something to Wanrong Automobile.”

After that, Xu Wanqing explained the situation from the beginning. Xu Nan gasped loudly, then glared at the people on the floor. “Lock them all up!”

Meanwhile, Ye Lingchen had arrived by a river. He removed his shirt and could see the gunshot wound on his left shoulder. It was still bleeding!

He took a deep breath, and all the muscles on his body began to squirm. After a moment, a bullet was pushed out from his wound.

After washing his wound with water, his wound started to crust up and the bleeding stopped…
