Yan Qingsi initially had a frown on her face and she did not know why she was so tickled by his words that she laughed.

Yue Tingfeng hugged Yan Qingsi, his forehead kissing hers. “I haven’t been alone with you like for a long time,” he sighed.

“Is this… Our first real date?”

Yue Tingfeng flicked Yan Qingsi’s nose with his fingers. “Of course it is. I’ve come so far to see you for a date. I bought a bouquet for you on purpose when I went to your set but you’ve forgotten already. Flowers symbolize a date, you know?”

Yan Qingsi remembered that bouquet, a bundle of blue cornflowers. It was the most beautiful bouquet she had ever received in her life.

Yue Tingfeng pinched Yan Qingsi’s cheeks. “You’ve neglected me for so many days,” he complained. “It’s about time you give some attention to me, no? Milady?”

Yan Qingsi lifted Yue Tingfeng’s chin with one hand. “Unfortunately I feel… Thou hast not satisfied me, therefore I deign to give thee my attention.”

Yue Tingfeng pursed his lips and gritted his teeth. “You… Sometimes… I really… want to…”

A young girl carrying a basket full of flowers appeared before them. “Mister, why don’t you buy the Miss some flowers? Then she won’t be angry anymore.”

Yue Tingfeng’s expression darkened. “How is she angry?” he said. “It’s me who’s angry.”

The little girl was so shocked that she was rendered speechless. Her eyes went wide.

Yan Qingsi took the girl’s hand, suppressing her laughter. “Give me a flower, please.”

The girl quickly gave her one. Yan Qingsi groped around to grab Yue Tingfeng’s wallet as though it were her own. She took out two red notes and paid the girl. “Keep the change.”

The girl’s eyes brightened. She took the money happily. She then extracted a paper charm from the basket and gave it to Yan Qingsi. “Thank you, Miss. You’re a kind person.”

Surprise rippled throughout Yan Qingsi. She said her thanks as she accepted the crudely made charm.

Yan Qingsi tickled Yue Tingfeng’s face with the rose. “Come now, are you still mad?”

Yue Tingfeng puckered his lips. “You used my money to buy this. Of course, it’s mine.”

“You’re already mine,” Yan Qingsi said, her tone low and seductive. “Your money is mine.”

Yue Tingfeng had been wearing a livid expression, but he could not smother the smile creeping up his face.

He allowed himself to relish the moment for a while before snatching the rose away from Yan Qingsi. “Yan Qingsi, you’re lucky that you’re a woman,” he said vehemently. I would probably wholly bend to you if you were a man.”

Yan Qingsi circled Yue Tingfeng’s neck with her finger. “It’s all right. So long as you’re my man, right?”

Yue Tingfeng clenched his jaw. Yan Qingsi’s ability to bewitch the opposite sex far surpassed his own. No wonder she was the dominant one, and he had never thought about switching positions.

Yue Tingfeng suddenly pointed behind Yan Qingsi. “Dammit. There’s someone taking pictures of you there.”

Yan Qingsi turned around to take a look. Yue Tingfeng quickly took something out of his pocket and threw it toward the ground at Yan Qingsi’s feet.

Yan Qingsi saw no one taking pictures of her. “No one’s here!” she said impatiently.

Yue Tingfeng leaned against her back and jerked her chin downward. “Hey, you dropped something,” he said.

There was indeed something on the ground. It looked like a jewelry box. “What dropped?” she asked.

“Your boyfriend,” Yue Tingfeng replied.

Yan Qingsi gaped at him, unable to conjure the words for a retort. She looked at Yue Tingfeng. What a childish brat!

“Come one. Pick it up,” Yue Tingfeng cajoled her. “Why aren’t you picking your boyfriend up…”
