Yan Qingsi could see the hatred and anger in Yan Ruke’s eyes — suppressed but not released. Seeing that, she purposely added fuel to fire, saying, “However… come to think of it, he’s not your man anymore. Or should I say, he was never your man. Don’t you think so, my dear aunt?”

Yan Ruke’s face lost color. Her body was shaking and her eyes were a watery mess. That look of forcing back tears was enough to make anyone take pity on her.

“Qingsi, do things really need to be this way between us?”

“Why not?”

Yan Ruke bit her lip. “Can’t we be like when we were younger? Can’t we go back to the good old days? I can give Yue Tingfeng to you, just promise me you’ll stop all this and be good again, can you?”

Yan Qingsi sniggered. “Obviously not. This is who I am. As you said, I’m a bad woman, I’m a slut. I told you three years ago, as long as I’m alive, all of you will never have a peaceful day to go by. Until now, I still live by these words.”

“My dear aunt,” she continued, “seeing you live such a good life really got on my nerves. I’m unhappy, so obviously I can’t allow you to be happy too.”

Yan Ruke’s grip on her bag tightened. She tried really hard to come up with something to discredit Yan Qingsi in front of Mrs. Yue but she came up blank.

Yan Ruke knew in her heart that it would be difficult to touch Yan Qingsi now.

Yan Ruke implored with a pained expression. “Qingsi, why have you become such a person? If your mother knew what you have become, she would have been very heartbroken, you know?”

“Aunt, come here, how about a hug? I haven’t seen you in a long time.”

Yan Qingsi suddenly stepped forward and gave Yan Ruke a big hug. With the extremely sharp heel of her high-heel shoes, she forcefully stepped on Yan Ruke’s foot.

Yan Ruke wanted to shout out in pain but she only bit her lips in silence. The Yan family was already in ruins, she could not risk a Yan family feud ruining the Helan family’s beloved daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony.

Yan Qingsi’s heel was so thin and sharp it could kill a man. She used all her strength to step on Yan Ruke’s foot, it almost felt like it was going to pierce through her foot.

Yan Qingsi’s hand reached up from behind Yan Ruke’s back and viciously grabbed a bunch of her hair, tugging downward. The pain caused Yan Ruke to tear up.

Whispering into Yan Ruke’s ear coldly, she said, “Don’t you dare bring up my mum, ever. Don’t try to play your little tricks on me, Yan Ruke. Three years ago, I could steal your man. Now three years later, I can steal everything away from you.”

Yan Qingsi let go of Yan Ruke and stepped back. There was a bunch of hair in her fist.

Yan Qingsi blew the hair off her fist which then landed right beside Yan Ruke’s feet. Smirking, she said, “I’m so sorry my dear aunt, I got carried away and accidentally grabbed a strand or two of your hair. You’re such a nice person, surely you wouldn’t mind, would you?”

Yan Ruke was shaking from so much pain she could not find the words to speak. Everything about Yan Qingsi looked so vile while she was in so much pain and hatred.

Mrs. Yue stood there flabbergasted while Yue Tingfeng just looked on coldly at Yan Qingsi.

This woman never really learned how to ask for help, always going at it alone. She can fight until she stood in a bloodbath and she still would not ask for help.

Yue Tingfeng felt heartbroken for her.

“Aunt, if you’re not going to say anything, I’ll just assume you’re okay with it. Well then, I hope you have a great time tonight.”

Turning around, she became another person entirely. Pulling on Mrs. Yue and Yue Tingfeng, she begged affectionately, “Aunty, darling, let’s go sit over there, my legs hurt from all the standing.”

The three of them then left, with Yan Qingsi tugging the two of them along on each hand. Turning around to look at Yan Ruke, Yan Qingsi shot her a cold smile.
